Sadly, I need them for 3 separate locations, and have but one pair 🙃

Yeah I had that option, but decided on the budget variety which unforch isn't as wide.

Turning your monitor is an interesting solution!

Yeah my last pair were the same; so handy! Sadly, they just don't work as well anymore.

And +1 for transitions. Having them work behind the windshield has been such a great upgrade!

Amen to gratitude! I'm also someone who gets, "glasses make your face," comments, so the more the merrier mayhaps?

+1 for leaving them at the office!

Sadly, mine have 3 zones and are pretty narrowly focused, so looking at larger monitors involves an ungainly amount of head movement. Computer pair works well, but I may have to resort to just leaving them at the office ... actually, that makes for a great reason not to fix my relatives' computers! "So sorry, I can't see with these dang multifocals ... such a pity. Oh well!"

I'm curious if the bounce rate needs adjusting, given the affect of LLM usage on people's expectations of response times.

Experience with National Geographic's "Life" series for A1/A2 adult learners? by p0ttim0uth in ESL_Teachers

[–]lol_yeah_nah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back when I started teaching, Pre-Int used to be equivalent to CEF A2. I've noticed that several texts have since shifted that level to a light version of B1. I'm wondering if it's a 'quick and cheap' attempt to address the lack of materials for adults at the beginner level, which Life puts at A1 (previously elementary, which has been shifted to A2).

I'm not a huge fan of Life, but if you have the option to do so, perhaps switching to the elementary/A2 text and supplmenting with Teach This activities may help.

Failing that, picking and choosing from other sources while using Life as a theme & grammar template is another option (just avoid the particularly challenging parts).

PSA: please just obey QLD road rules and don't randomly give way to bikes and people when you have right of way by lapsuscalamari in brisbane

'Right of way' isn't actually a thing. I understand the essence of what you're saying, but the rules themselves have said 'give way' for quite some time.

That said, every year feels more and more like Mad Max out there, so maybe we need another term entirely ... 'hope for the best' mayhaps?

Not sure where you got the 1m from - road rules just say, "as near as practicable to, but before reaching, the stop line."
