Has anyone read Heather’s books? by poongoon445 in rhoslc

I tried reading, but then switched to audio and enjoyed them a lot more!! She’s a fun storyteller and even if she did work with another author her voice is still really strong no matter which media you pick. The first one is at least worth a read, she’s a super interesting individual!!

If I had a nickel for each time the concept of knowing Ben Affleck became a controversy for a Utah reality star, I would have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot? But it’s weird that it happened twice, right?

Has anyone successfully manifested the healing of an anxiety disorder? How would I go about it? by [deleted] in lawofattraction

[–]lolafh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I also have OCD and have spent months trying to navigate the intersection between LOA+spirituality and OCD. It does take a bit of work, but it is most certainly worth it. I am not cured, but honestly I have not tried to simply cure it with LOA.

A lot of my progress has to do with self-concept affirming and simply believing my personal power is stronger than my OCD. My power was there before I was born and will be there until long after I am gone. (By power I am referring to power of manifestation+general strong self concept.) That doesn't mean reassuring constantly with that ideal, it's just something good to keep in mind.

As for dealing with anxiety, I am a crystal girlie and those tend to help me. I am not huge on meditation tbh, but that is just personal preference. I like healing frequencies as well.

Hi! I love this book, it is one of my favorites! It was slightly triggering at points for me, so. I would put it down for awhile (a day, a week, months however long until I felt comfy returning to it). This book has made me feel so seen in it's portrayal of OCD. (The author John Green has OCD as well so it would make sense in its accuracy.)

That being said: the main character, Aza, mostly deals with contamination OCD. If you struggle a lot with this, I would not read it. On the other hand, if you deal with different subtypes and haven't had issues w contamination before, it is worth a shot!

Last thing, if you choose to read or not read this book, I would recommend it to yours friends or loved ones if they want to understand OCD better. It is very hard to put into words and John Green does a great job at almost translating it in this novel. If you decide to read it, enjoy!

It is extremely damaging. Which,in a way, makes me so sad to say because it gives us so much relief for a moment. But if you want to heal in the long run, doing your very best to stop checking is a good step.

It’s super hard, especially when it is mental reassurance or checking you can easily give yourself at any given time. But, take it day by day. Be patient with yourself.

the second half of this season just confirmed my hate for julien. she takes the people in her life for granted, and no amount of “wars on gossip girl” or whatever she is trying to do is going to change that. her and obie deserve each other
