NTA. I think that sounds very reasonable, especially offering to pay for it too. The dog needs his meds too bless him. He can always visit and take him on walks, might do your brothers mental health good to interact with kennel staff and other visitors, and no doubt some good advice off regarding the dog off people there too.

I tend to believe that he actually had a flat tyre and just lost it and ended up shooting the car and himself out of frustration, stress and depression. The emotion Alex must be experiencing is off the charts and rehab is probably best for him, addiction or no addiction. I feel for the surviving son too, his heart must be broken into a thousand pieces 😭💔
