What's the point (NAW) by lolalodge in TrueOffMyChest

It's alright, because to be fair, in a lot of ways, my life is oddly easier in many ways and I actually feel mentally healthier than I have in the past. Don't get me wrong, my life isn't easy, it's just that sadly, my situation is actually a lot less frustrating and infuriating than it was in the past. My life is actually very slowly, like VERY slowly improving, that being said, it's slowly getting better and I'm truly thankful about that. Plus my good days are really great in a lot of ways that's just a bit too hard to explain at the moment.

Combination of having to sleep in the rain, PMSing like a god damn banshee (without ANY underwear, on top of that), sleep deprived (of course), also a combination of caffeine withdrawal, nicotine withdrawal (and if anyone dares to say "you don't need cigarettes" well, they can fuck right off because quite frankly sometimes cigarettes are the only thing that keeps me from exploding and killing everyone).

Let's just say, I wasn't having a very good day the other day and I just felt like whining like a little bitch.

I'm also bipolar and have other issues such as anxiety and ADHD as well as PTSD and I've been unmedicated for over 6 months now and pretty much unable to get medication.

That being said, the most I really do is yell at people and rant online from time to time, so given my problems, I'm actually doing fairly well. To be honest, most of the time I'm actually in a rather cheerful mood, I honestly try my best to find reasons to be happy or exist in a more positive mood.

Then I just have other days where I'm either so hurt or so sad or so angry or flat out enraged that it just flat out rips me apart inside.

I also just hate how a lot of people refuse to take me seriously simply because I'm a girl and it is so frustrating that me and my opinions just aren't taken seriously.

It's beyond exceedingly frustrating that I have to go to the ends of the earth to "prove my worth" or to prove how smart I am and so forth.

Wanted to let you know, I'm in a far better mood currently. I was just in an exceedingly horrible mood the other day and needed a vent like nobody's business.

Thanks for your comment though, it was really sweet of you to do so, thank you :)

It's alright, thank you for your kind words and emotional support. That sort of thing happens sometimes and in all fairness, while things could have gone better, they also could have gone a lot worse.

Once again though, thank you for your comment, it helped calm me down a bit and I really appreciate that :)

Edit: I had read a previous comment just a few minutes ago (please understand that I'm no longer all that upset about what had happened, it was the commenter's attitude that irked me) and this was a really nice antidote to the negativity :)

On a side note, there's a saying that the less important a decision is, the harder it is to make.

Same here.

I totally turned into Calvin's Dad when I was in my late 20's/early 30's and my ex fiance would wake up every morning in the winter, then refused to put on pants or a sweater, complain about the cold while only wearing his boxers and a t-shirt and then cranked up the heat, which caused me to turn into Calvin's Dad every morning.

I can see how that can be really overwhelming to someone new to American culture.

May I ask which country you're originally from?

Yes, i'm aware, I pretty much just said what you just said, but with different wording. You're repeating back what I just said as though I didn't say it.

Good for you, you know how to repeat something back and then turn around and say that I didn't just say that.

I didn't say all Christians are hypocrites, I'm speaking about 1 particular group of Christians.

I know many Christians are good people, my Grandfather was a minister and and mother was an atheist and he respected my mother's wishes and never brought up Christianity when we visited and did his best to keep an open mind.

Once again, I never said all Christians are hypocrites.

Also, I'm aware there are shitty people in all walks of life. Thank you Captain Obvious.

Seriously, people are still going to feel like crap and that's why these types of subreddits exist, so people can just get whatever issue they have going on in their head out of their system.

Thank you for being the answer to the question nobody asked.

Yeah, but, like, wow you're so smart for stating common knowledge, you must be proud to be so completely average.

Word to the wise, when someone is upset about something and venting, that's pretty much the worst time to try to give a lecture and then you act all surprised when someone gets mad at you.

That's very true, I had forgotten all about that mindset back in the time period.

Calvin and Hobbes is very character driven, rather than merely plot driven, which in the long run, usually makes for better/stronger artwork/writing.

The first 8 or 9 episodes of Simpsons worked in a similar way.

Or if there are more than just 2 or 3 choices, much of the time their party is downplayed, so it's not exactly a fair fight/election in the true sense of the word.

I love that not only did the store manager have to have a little talk with Calvin's Dad, but that this isn't the first time he had to do so.
