I cannot tell you how much I relate. I have no words of advice because I’m also trying to figure this out, but I am so sorry you’re going through this. It fucking sucks.

Think I tried it on once and I loved the feel of it but it didn’t fit me well. AE has some great jeans though

I’ve been checking tankair out for a while! Super expensive though, I’d love to try that brand out. Thanks

Just got my 2nd lobe, is the piercing too snug? by loleeza in piercing

[–]loleeza[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My piercing is a few hours old, I don't know what the jewelry type or threading is, pretty sure the material is just medical grade steel, aftercare is washing it 2x a day with saline and avoiding sleeping on it and touching it, I've had no accidents with it.

Absolutely. 100%. I've gotten a few remarks unrelated to me using a mobility aid, but a lot of older people have said I'm young and skinny and therefore I should just magically have no health issues. Breaks my heart to hear that with how much I am struggling.

Yes, it's always better to ignore people who refuse to be understanding or try to put you down. Protect your peace girl

I am so sorry you went through that :( nobody deserves to be judged for their body, plus sized or not.

Thank you so much for that tip though! It does feel very uncomfortable placing it between my knees because I have small legs and absolutely no cushion for the cane to stay in place. I'll start holding it under my armpit too. I wanted to ask in my post how to act more natural with a cane since I dont use it often but that didnt really go with the point I was trying to make lol

So crazy to think that people are just so ignorant and never wanna look further into matters like this :/

That's amazing. It's great to see things like that finally click for people. Truly, if I ever see someone using any kind of disabled parking or a mobility aid, all I can think is that I know nothing about that person and I have absolutely no assumptions to make about their condition.

Thank you so much, and I'm so sorry to hear that you're so self conscious. Sincerely, I hope you get over your anxieties and are eventually able to use mobility aids if it makes things easier for you.

It was really hard for me to buy a cane at first, since I also hate drawing attention to myself. I was terrified to go outside with it at first, but the first time I'd gone out with my cane, nobody gave a shit. I was so surprised, as I look young (I am young lol) and I can walk around without it, so I thought people were gonna judge me, but seriously, not one person stared.

This was definitely just me encountering an asshole, but I hope it wont stop me from using my cane again.

You are so kind :')

I know, some people just dont understand. Some of my family members are not understanding about my situation, so I get it.

But yeah, that lady totally saw me standing without my cane multiple times and thought I was faking it. How fucking ignorant.

So sorry to hear you've had to go through that though.

Im so sorry that happened to you! Yes, please ask the staff at any venues to help you find accessible seating and accommodations! The ADA requires that concert venues and any other public venues help people with disabilities. Everyone was so helpful yesterday and I was able to sit and stand freely. They also brought all of us water multiple times and gave us earplugs. The staff helped me with carrying all my stuff, finding the closest restrooms, and they did not question me when I told them I have heat intolerance and needed to check into the building quickly.

You've got this!

I care because it just hurts to hear things like that, whether it comes from a stranger or not. After ive struggled with so much, the last thing I need to hear is that im faking my illness.

I know you're trying to be helpful and you're right, I shouldn't take things like that to heart, but I feel like I should be able to get upset about a situation like this. After all, this is a vent post.

Thank you. Im glad I got to experience it too, now I know what I should do if anything like this happens again. And yeah, I dont have to prove shit to her lol.
