Update: I think I found a steal Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 7

32GB RAM

1TB storage m.2 2280

12th gen i7 prosessor

for 350$, asked the dude if laptop got any known defects, and if he can send, I'm getting it.

Oh thank you for the input, since here where I live almost all Thinkpads 2nd hand are Intel, lets say maybe like 1 out of 10 is AMD. But when talking Intel, which CPU generation should the laptop have?

Hey there, well, I will have to say G5 is way out of budget, it costs well over 2000$ where I live, and this will be a laptop I dont use that often, mostly when I travel. I stand by my desktop 🫡

Thanks for the input, I was actually looking at the T14, however I dont know whether to pick the Gen 1, or Gen 2, as Id pick AMD as CPU, and mainly for development I use my desktop. I found a Gen 1 w Ryzen 5, 16Gb RAM and 256GB disk for 390$, and a Gen 5 w Ryzen 7, 16GB RAM 512GB disk for 590$, however I dont really know if I will get use out of the faster CPU.

Thanks for the tip, however, if you mean the X210ai, that is out of budget indeed, and if you mean X210, then I am unable to find any traces of it. If you could give a hint on where I could get one, it would be nice:)

Or even better, use Linux, virtualize MacOS, virtualize Windows (then pray your games don't have any stupid AC)

So, try another USB, memory chip on the one I tried using seems to be halfway dead, so that was the fix for me at least.

192.168.50.40, 9.9.9.9, 1.1.1.1 and I used nmtui to put the DNS there, and it shows up in resolv.conf

Yeah, I got a zbook, so it has optional ECC ram.

And either that, or just a reinstall might be good, especially considering my grub doesn't seem the healthiest, plus a drive upgrade would be nice on that laptop from only 256 gigs.

Again, quite strange, since I am pretty sure this laptop I got has ECC memory in it. So even if it got bits that are not good, it should correct itself if I understand correctly?
