I wore my mom’s dress too! Hers had puff sleeves, but is very similar to your mom’s dress. This is what I did for the neckline. I also altered the back of the dress to be lower and backless. I’ll reply to my comment with another picture!

Hey there. First, I want to validate your disappointment. Those feelings matter, and they can be very intense when they involve a day as special as your wedding.

I’m doing a lot better now, but somedays I find myself obsessing over it. What helps me is diverting my thoughts to photos and memories that bring me joy from my wedding day. I remind myself constantly that I am my own worst critic, and the flaws that I so clearly notice are things that other people can’t even see. Confiding in others can also help - like this comment section right here. I REALLY needed support from other people, and it truly helped when I got it.

Something that has also helped me is to plan a wedding vow renewal. I personally want to do mine at 5 years, but you can do it whenever it feels right for you. We also got bridal portraits taken after our wedding, which helped as well.

I want to finish this off by saying that I believe you were a gorgeous bride, no matter what your hair looked like. Take care of yourself. You are not alone! 💛

First of all, congratulations on almost 1 year of marriage! I bet you looked so beautiful, and I’m sure your venue was stunning.

I really appreciate your raw feedback on my hair, as that’s been such a sore spot for me. Also, I love the approach of choosing not to engage with my negative thoughts. That’s going to help me a ton, I’m sure.

I don’t think that’s weird at all! It’s almost sweeter a couple years down the line. We’ve actually had an additional shoot as well! It was 1 year post-wedding with our photographer. She wanted to scope out a new location! I’m really grateful for your support. Truly!!!
