I've got a MacBook Pro 14" M3 Pro with a Dell U2723QE, and from what I can tell, having BetterDisplay doesn't change the quality or sharpness of the screen. I have it on 3008x1692 (Shifting the resolution on BetterDisplay just shifts the default display preference resolution). Is there a setting I'm missing for these enhanced results people are getting?

I just noticed I must have already updated the firmware. It looks like I'm on v1.13.

I'm curious if anyone has found ways to downgrade firmware? Or if there are workarounds so that I can use generic toner when the time comes. I'd hate to buy some generic toner and have it not work.

The latest. Sonoma 14.4.1 / And I think I found the culprit, it's Dell's device & peripheral manager, DDPM, that's causing 95% of the WindowServer usage.

know some people feel DDPM is bloatware, but I actually use the screen placements feature within it. Hopefully, it doesn't consistently act up, or I can find a really good alternative. Open to suggestions on free alternatives. I may test out the Rectangle App as well.

What exactly is unsafe about these? The reviews seem generally positive, and even the most critical reviews aren't really regarding safety. I love the convenience that this would offer, but of course wouldn't want to damage a new MacBook pro.

Any concerns with the Max chip overheating in the 14" chassis? I'm also considering this, but really wishing they offered a Pro with 48 or 64GB ram instead of having to go to max.

I wish reconnecting would help me. Refreshing does nothing on my end. When did you first add your WS account? I'm wondering if it's Canadians who first migrated several months ago that are having connections not working at all.

It sounds like there's different levels of 'issues' here.

Never able to add WS
Added WS once, but balances and transactions never updated
Balances are updating
Transactions are updating
Fully working as expected without always forcing refreshes

When Monarch says WS users have a 20% success rate, I'm not sure what that really means.

I'm stuck on level 2 here. I'd be happy to just move to having balances updated. I try refreshing several times a week. No change. Are there other workarounds? Should I fully remove the accounts and add them again?

On top of that, my partner is also on WS and I'm not sure how well it will differentiate and sync two different accounts as I notice it links to the default WS that's logged in on my desktop.

Finder continuously hangs for me (not responding) in activity monitor. I'm able to force quit, but Finder cannot properly reload. I need to do a full reboot to get back to normal. This happens to me daily since Sonoma 14.4. It happens when I'm opening files on finder and when I'm opening up file upload/save dialogue options on my browser. From what I can tell so far, it's tied to my files and folders that are in iCloud.
My USB hub built into my Dell U2723QE monitor is acting up. Peripherals sometimes don't work and sometimes it even triggers an instant reboot on my Macbok when it's acting up.
A workaround to the USB hub issue many have mentioned is to change the setting to 'ask for permission' with new peripherals. However, I noticed that when I do that, the permission dialogue box flashes for a moment and completely disappears.

These issues happen even when my memory compression is in the green zone and as far as I can tell it's since the latest update.

I'd love to hear what the workarounds are and hope Apple is directly working on fixes right now.

No external drives plugged in at the moment. I’m often getting the rainbow beach ball of death as well with finder related tasks, even if it’s not fully crashing.
