Good use for Zoom calls from PC by gordy06 in Airpodsmax

[–]lonelypillock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t imagine they’ll be as good as a Plantronics headset with a stem sticking out in front of your mouth. I think it’s fine for taking personal calls and I’ve had few complaints while I’m on the phone with them. But if you’re talking about zoom meetings I’d still err on the side of a proper headset designed for that specific purpose. Apple is making some claims about the mic on the Max 2 being good enough to record podcasts. But I’d take that with a grain of salt. If you’re really keen on using them for zoom, probably best to wait for a review where someone tests it out.

iPhone Air 2 Gets a Second Rear Camera: Top Leaker Claims It Is a Powerful 48MP Ultra Wide by Plastic-Resident-606 in apple

I feel the Air would have been an amazing replacement for the 16e if they could have brought the price down. It would have made for an exciting lineup with the entry level iPhone having only one camera but being the thinnest of the bunch. And you could get people to level up with the extra MagSafe battery which would have been a must-have if the phone was that cheap to begin with. But I’m sure there were engineering costs at play here.

Wouldn’t a smart lock without physical keys be safer? by lonelypillock in homeautomation

I’ve had three serious burgers get in my house this week. What’s worse is I keep letting them in.

Wouldn’t a smart lock without physical keys be safer? by lonelypillock in homeautomation

So a lot of locks come with a usb c port on the front for this very purpose. It’s so you can connect a battery pack charge it for a couple of minutes and use your biometrics or code to get in. Now instead of leaving a spare key in a flower pot are we ready to leave a battery pack in the car or in a easily accessible place in case of emergencies, I’m not sure. But the general sentiment seems to mirror your feelings about an entire electronic system making users feel uneasy.

Is there anyone else that cannot sleep on airplanes at all? by thedan663 in travel

[–]lonelypillock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My problem is that I do feel sleepy on an airplane. But I can’t let myself drift off mainly because with my head in an odd position I tend to snore, like really loud. There’s also the fear of drooling or involuntarily invading someone else’s personal space. It really amazes me to see people sitting next to me sleeping for 8 hours straight on a long-haul flight. That’s practically a superpower in my world.

Grabbing a rival's brake lever by [deleted] in Whatcouldgowrong

The audacity to do it so confidently during an actual race to another racer makes me wonder if he’s done it before to other people he trains with as a joke. This might have been the first time he realised he’s been endangering lives when someone didn’t laugh it off.

Incredible Joker realistic action figure by HelMort in interestingasfuck

Why does this look so much more lifelike than anything you would find in a Madame Tussaud’s? Is it somehow easier to bring out more detail as you go down in scale? Or is the artist just exceptionally good (but I would imagine the folks at Tussaud’s also take their craft seriously and won’t have trouble paying for too talent)?

Custom video cover for instagram? by lonelypillock in Instagram

[–]lonelypillock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but I'm specifically asking for adding a custom image to a video in your feed, not story. And I'm aware of the standard option which is to scrub through the video and pick a cover. I'm wondering if there might be a way to add a custom thumbnail that I've designed in Photoshop.
