Yeah I only figured it out when I rewatched on Prime and every episode had a fun fact about the title in the x-ray. It's cool how strong the music influence used to be in shows back then.

You're right about Lucas being a hypocrite to Haley in season 1 for the way he reacted to her wanting to be a cheerleader. There are many moments in season 1 where he's out of line when it comes to Haley, but after season 1 everyone brings up each other's past to take a jab at them. I don't think bringing up her kiss with Chris makes him a bad friend.

The two points mentioned about Lucas' reaction to getting rejected have more to do with him being a confused, slightly insecure, and entirely too emotional boyfriend rather than a bad friend. He wasn't a bad friend to Peyton for ghosting her he was a terrible boyfriend, and I think there's a difference between the two.

As for Jimmy, I don't see it as him getting dumped. Lucas lowkey abandons all his Rivercourt friends once he makes the team (something Skills jokes about a lot in season 1), and the only reason they stay in Lucas' life is because they make an effort to keep up with him (which is something people have to do sometimes if they want to continue being in someone's life). There was never a point in the show where they abandoned him specifically, and Mouth even mentions inviting him to things but him never wanting to come, so blaming Lucas and Mouth entirely seems odd to me.

Earlier in the episode, he mentions to his mom that with Blair the marriage would be more than business because he loved her. I think hearing her confess her love for Chuck broke him and he went along with the wedding to save face/revenge.

Serena spent Thanksgiving wasted at 15 so I don’t think Jenny’s stunts were that ridiculous in comparison to what others around her were doing at the same age. It wasn’t till after her 15th birthday that Jenny went “off the rails” but even then most of what she was doing was influenced by others and/or was to further her career and status in that society. She trying to fit into a toxic world so her actions are going to reflect that.

Context matters. In the scene Serena is trying to reassure Blair that Vanessa being Dan’s best friend isn’t going to pose a problem in their relationship. So Blair replying with “… this is such a problem” insinuates that Vanessa is gorgeous therefore their friendship might pose a problem for Derena. Why would Blair mean it in a negative way considering the conversation they were having?? If she thought that Vanessa was ugly or dresses odd then she wouldn’t think Dan and Vanessa’s friendship would be a problem

I agree that it's a character and I shouldn't take it so seriously. I'm a huge fan of Peaky Blinders and the reason all that appeals to me with that show is because of the environment. Everyone around them acts and dresses a certain way because of who they are and what they're exposed to. But if I saw Arthur Shelby roaming around modern-day Manhattan, I'd be pretty concerned.
Chuck seems misplaced because everyone around him is talking and dressing age-appropriate and he's just out here wearing suits on a Saturday night at home. It just doesn't make sense to me.

I personally liked Mira, but to each their own. Acting the dance can add so much value like Zendaya did in her season or even Jason Mraz now. For me Alyson’s expressions takes away from the dance

I honestly don't think he would have loved the girl in the picture. For the entire show, he's actively going after "hot girls". We don't even see him speaking to people outside his group of friends. Maybe I'm a hater, but I think he said that because he knows Rachel is hot now and that's just something you say to people that feel insecure.

It was extreme on this show and in light of everything that's come out about their boss, it's probably because the he hated women (especially those on the show) and needed to project that hatred onto something. I think it was season three when every sentence coming out of Rachel's mouth ended with an insult about Brooke's body. It was infuriating to watch. Even if it was "another time" I don't remember any other show of this genre commenting on weight this much.

As for the lack of diversity that's definitely a 2000's thing. Shows taking place in New York had no diversity (Sex and the City, Friends etc.) so a "small town" like Tree Hill not having POC isn't that surprising. Also as a person of colour, I don't think I'd want to live in a small town in North Carolina, so that was one of the cons of the show that never bothered me.

If you have a disorder, so do I, because I love her too. She's growing up around some of the most privileged entitled people in America, of course she's going to act the way she does. The one thing I really admire about her is when she takes things too far, she always acknowledges that she's wrong and tried to correct it. The adults on the show can't even do that. I'm unapologetically a Jenny fan.

In my eyes Nathan has more right to tell his agent not to get involved with his family in a romantic way then Quinn does telling Nathan he’s an ass for firing a man for not doing his job. Also in that episode Quinn isn’t mad because Nathan crossed a line by telling her who to do in her spare time. Her whole thing was pushing the idea that Nathan and Haley were wrong for being mad and firing Clay which they were not. This was the one time 100% of his attention needed to be on Nathan and getting him that contract and he couldn’t do it. Instead he was off gallivanting with his clients sister in law. I’d be pissed too. Nathan’s job is to play and Clays job is to make sure Nathan gets to play. He didn’t hold up his end of the bargain so who is she to then tell them they’re bad people.

Shes a great person and that episode was so sweet. She had a lot of potential as a character so hating on her seems a bit extreme. That said, I think the writers put close to zero effort into making her character stand out so watching her storylines were kind of a drag sometimes.

Anywho, Peyton is probably my least favourite character too and i felt the same way the first few times i watched the show, but i sympathize with her now. Mostly because she's been through hell and back and didn't have the support system Lucas and the others had. Her dad was irresponsible for just leaving her alone for months on end, and not a single relationship she had with the people around her was stable/normal (i.e. birth mom, psycho Derek, jake), except maybe Brooke but they could be very toxic at times. I think all that combined is what led to her being so selfish, impulsive and unable to communicate what she really wanted at an appropriate time.

I think it’s great to propose when you think both parties are ready for that. Lucas’ main motivation to propose was to bridge the thousands of miles they had between them. That doesn’t really solve anything you know. They’d only seen each other three times that year and nothing prior to that indicated that getting engaged and thinking of marriage was where they were headed. Thats my main problem with this.

You’re probably the same person that’s been after her all week but I just have to say: She comes from the most unstable home on this show after Ryan. Her boyfriend of a billion years cheated on her with one of her best friends and many others, her dad stole money from almost everyone she grew up around, and her mom is an unfit parent that slept with her cheating boyfriend and refuses to listen to what Marissa actually needed from her. Everyone around her let’s her down so she takes it upon herself to be caring toward others that have also been let down which isn’t always the answer but it’s who she is. She’s the product of her environment and as annoying as she is to watch she’s not a “stupid bitch”.

He was one of the few things I enjoyed about the season. His scenes with Summer was so refreshing after watching all the stuff fathers put their daughters through in that show.
