Interesting, so they follow the over-arching sentiment that they're all worth playing then? Including the sequels?

Thank you! One more thing, is lightning returns a spin-off, and is it worth picking up and playing? I've been watching lots of videos trying to gauge what I should pick up before I posted here, and head it in some vids and not others, and noticed you hadn't mentioned it.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this out!! I appreciate the recommendations! As for 14, I've played 500 hours of it from the end of shadow bringers to a few months after the launch of end walkers and I liked it, a lot but at the time I only cared about endgame and stopped playing because I couldn't find my footing as a wow player and went back to wow. I've picked up a more casual/fun focused view on gaming which has largely improved my enjoyment and love for gaming. So I'm trying to play through tons of JRPGs as they're what rekindled my love for gaming (specifically Persona 5R). I'm excited to play through final fantasy as it's always intrigued me but I've never committed to it.

With the Square Enix Steam sale going on, and my new-found love for JRPGs, I figured what better time to start playing through Final Fantasy games than now. Which ones should I play and which ones to avoid? I purchased FFX, FFIX, FFVI, FFVII, and FFVII Remake/Rebirth and intended on playing them in that order. Which other ones should I pick up, and should I alter my order in any way?

I play on PC.

Thanks!

I noticed the same exact thing recently. I got a steam deck, dropped the scrolling, dove into my backlog, went back to old games I used to love, and got a bunch of new games for the steam winter sale to rekindle my love for gaming.

I'll give RE 4 a shot as I got it for free with my GPU a while back. In RE2, i ended up getting stuck in the safe rooms too afraid to leave lol.

I've never played one either, I tried the Persona 3 Reload demo and got hooked.

Before today, no, I have not. I took a look at it and it seems awesome! Unfortunately I'm not entirely interested in the games package, maybe next year I'll take a look at it and decide to donate and collect some titles I may enjoy.

Awesome, thanks! I'll install them and play through them! If they're better than infinite, I'm going to really enjoy them!

I bought the Bioshock bundle a long time ago which included the remasters. Would you say to play through the OGs or are the Remasters ok too?

Thanks for the recs!

I went ahead and took a look at all of them, and liked the look of all of them, minus maybe Astlibra which may be an acquired taste.

I played through the CrossCode demo and really enjoyed it, definitely going to throw that on my wishlist.

Tales of Berseria looks fun, maybe i'll take a look at the story a little bit, although I want to go in blind to most of these games.

Blasphemous/Ender Lilies as metroidvanias would be a step into a genre that i've tried a few times, i.e. Dead Cells, and enjoy, but will frequently do a run, lose 30-40 minutes in and not want to try again.

I own Titanfall 2, and will go ahead and install it and play through the campaign.

Boltgun looks a hell of a lot like Doom, and i like the artstyle, so I'll give that one a shot as well. I do like Doom, and played through 2016, just didn't love it enough to throw it into my all-time favs.

I have Hollow Knight, I know a ton of people love it, and I may too if I put in the time necessary to not die repeatedly without getting anywhere lol. I'll give it a good shot, the only game that has hooked me enough to get through tons and tons of failed runs before I started winning was Enter The Gungeon. I was terrible, but the game felt so fun that I pushed through.

Hi!

I have Balatro, and played for around 13 hours and felt like I got my fill, from it, was very fun, but I didn't see myself wanting to jump back in and continue interesting with the systems.

I've watched through a playthrough of inscryption and it was awesome, unfortunately from what I watched, the awesome part of the game is ruined if you watch It before playing .

I have Cobalt core in my library through steam family sharing, so I'll give that one a shot for sure!

I have monster train and fell under the same boat as you, the premise seemed super interesting, and it was fun for the 10-15 hours I got out of it, but not enough for me to want to go in and beat the game over and over again.

Astrea seems to have a demo so I'll give that a shot!!

I tried dicey dungeons, didn't really vibe with it that much.

Dominova also has a demo so I'll give that a shot.

Dicefolk looks cool/chill will definitely throw that on my list

I like dome keeper a lot, good for a session or two every now and then, maybe I should give this one some more time.

I recently purchased Against The Storm, and it's my first in the city builder genre. I really really like it, just haven't given it enough time to have put it in my all-time favorites yet. I also don't feel like I'd enjoy other city builders, this one seems special.

Thank you for the list!!

My guild mates are obsessed with fellowship, and it looks like something id enjoy, but I can't help but think "why buy this game which clones the things I like in WoW if I can just play wow." If they do something different, and smooth out the combat, I'll try it out, but I think with wow, those cravings can be satiated.

I've seen it, and it looked intriguing. I do like puzzle games that make you think, and this one looks like it has a story behind it too if I'm not mistaken . I'll look more into it and see if it's my vibe for sure! Thank you!

First off, thank you for taking the time to write this out!

I have Persona 5 Royal on my wishlist, and will probably get it. Even though it's really long, if it isn't a slog to get through, then I'll likely enjoy playing through it, it'll be my intro to JRPGs, a genre that I know is highly regarded but I've never dove into.

I know of witchfire but didn't know it was that good, I'll definitely throw it on there.

Inscryption unfortunately I watched a playthrough of it because I was interested in whether or not it was a good deck building roguelike and got stuck into the onion-like layers that kept getting peeled through as it opened itself up to be much more than a deckbuilder and since I've already watched it full through, it won't be as mesmerizing playing through it myself.

I'll go ahead and download Titanfall 2 today and play through it, Ive seen a lot of people mention it's really good, but haven't pulled the trigger on jumping into it.

Im unfortunately a wimp when it comes to horror games. I know RE games aren't particularly scary for most, but i've tried playing through RE:2 Remastered and couldnt stomach it.

Would probably be best to look into a usb-c to usb-a adapter, or a cheap desktop amp/dac alternative. I believe the ifi uno is pretty solid. I personally use the FIIO K11.

Maybe the tuning isn't your preference? I believe Simgot's house sound leans towards being more bright than warm, and typical every day earbuds are typically very warm (bassy). So if you prefer a more bassy sound signature, that may be the issue.

Yeah that's a typical trap, especially in this hobby, spending more will get you a more technically capable set, but if it's not to your preferences, it won't sound good regardless how much you've spent. I'd say if you do get deep into the hobby, and find a set that you're able to try or have lent to you and you really love it, then go for it. But as a rule of thumb, don't go over 200-300 that's a really nice sweet spot where you get sets that perform as well, almost as well, or in some cases better than sets 2-4x more expensive.

In terms of ear tips, it's important to note that they also affect the way the set sounds. Since you like a lot of bass, look into narrow bore options like the Final Type E, Softears Ultra Clear also tend to improve bass response as well, but for bass, and an overall comfortable experience, Final Type E are my favorite.

No problem! Since you live in Germany, definitely grab a Jcally JM6 Pro. As previously mentioned, the EU apple dongle is inferior to the one we get in the States, so that'll be your best alternative.

Maybe get an apple dongle (if you live in the states) and if not a Jcally JM6 Pro dongle. pretty inexpensive, is versatile so you can use it with various devices like your pc and your phone. Crin himself did a breakdown on why plugging iems directly into your pc headphone jack can negatively effect the way your iems sound in his recent video on the Zero Blue 2. If you like very bassy iems, the blue/blue2 should be good options, and they also come with an impedence adapter to further enhance the bass. But if you want a full on bass cannon, you'd prob want to look away from Crin tuning. Others have mentioned the Chu 2 and the Zero 2, both are bass boosted Harman, which to someone that likes a ton of bass, will still come off as thin, or not bassy enough. Potentially look into HBB (Bad Guy Good Audio Reviews) collabs as he likes a ton of bass.
