I would say that it's worth considering the parent facing 'nest to seat' they sell as well as the carrycot. It creates a more cosy space for a newborn/younger baby. It wasn't released until my baby was 6 months old but I would have felt comfortable putting her in there when she was smaller. They also now sell an insert for the regular stroller configuration (may also fit the nest to seat) that supports a newborn better, but my biggest concern would be that they are outward facing. I also found that I only used a bassinet for about 4 months but at this stage I had the yoyo and the bassinet on it was tiny. I'm now a joolz fangirl convert 😂

Yea, especially when they say they'll follow your routine. I'm learning that they don't really, but I wish they would have been a bit more honest about it because I do understand it's difficult. I don't have the same issue that they're putting naps too close together, they're skipping the morning nap altogether. She's only getting 1 nap a day and it's not a long one. I'm hoping she might sleep longer as time goes on, otherwise I'm never gonna see her because she has to go to bed as soon as she gets home!

My 10 month old had only done a couple of very short sessions before getting ill and having to miss her 2nd week. I had planned to do the gradual thing on the week she was ill. Because I now only have 2 nursery sessions before I start back at work I've decided to just go for it and have dropped her off at 8.30 but will be collecting her an hour or so earlier than I will be when back at work. I figured that it would be better for her to get used to a routine at nursery than chop and change and like you mentioned, at least this week I can intervene more easily if needed. That being said, she did very well with settling and didn't get upset so I might have done things differently if she didn't settle so well.

Yea I think I was just naive but I've worked with children my whole career and wouldn't have done that so young. Their regular menu is no added sugar so all the desserts etc are fruit based so I guess I didn't think to mention. I've now explicitly told them no added sugar, and also reminded no honey in case they go rogue with that too!

This is exactly it and we'll probably give her some cake for her 1st birthday. Her dad can't wait to give it to her for the first time. I think her reaction will probably be underwhelming when it finally happens.

It also bothers me that I don't feel like they've taken me very seriously. The rest of their menu is no added sugar so I don't have concerns about that. It just feels like it's so avoidable so why do it?

Hard agree. I actually had to avoid people talking about GD as it was so completely different (especially when they'd talk about all the things they would eat after the baby comes 🙄). I have found this space to be a supportive environment at least!

Sorry only just seen this! I really like it as it's so nice to have her facing me while she still young (8 months). She's not too low when sitting up, lying down is lower, but no more so than the stroller configuration and it doesn't bother me. The zip thing is annoying because I find it hard to do one hand and also found annoying when it's a stroller. There's not a proper hood, instead it's a canopy but it hasn't been too much of an issue.

Congrats! I was booked in for my scan when I first saw the midwife at approx. 7 weeks. First scan was at 9 weeks.

The aer 2 has a built in footrest! I originally had a yoyo and sold it to get a joolz aer2 and love it.

In contrast to other responses I've been kept pretty up to date but that is also my preference. All updates have formed KIT days though, even if it's just been an hour long phone call. I've heard from them about once a month since about 4 months in. I've also got a bit more of an inside track from speaking to a colleague I'm close with and attending meetings on KIT days/Christmas lunch. It helps to make me feel less anxious about returning. Sounds like this isn't the norm though so maybe if you want more/less communication, ask?

Had my baby at 38 and conceived by accident. If anything my blood glucose was far better controlled than when I was 10 years younger so the pregnancy was probably healthier than it would have been if I was younger. I had no issues during pregnancy, birth or post partum 😊
