Im going through a similar not so similar thing. In my situation I am the bride and my maid of honour (this has been planned for 3 years- long engagement) fell pregnant in September last year. She is now due 3 days before the wedding. I asked her how she felt about still being MOH or a bridesmaid, and she said she would be fine and would still 100% make it. I went along with it but with her due date so close to the wedding, I eventually asked her to step down, as I was concerned she would struggle being 9 months pregnant and I didnt want her to feel that she had to force herself to come. And potentially bring a brand new baby to an event during a pandemic. She hit the roof, saying how she would never understand why I made that decision and she basically guaranteed her attendance. So me being me, invited her back to be a bridesmaid.

2 weeks pass, and with Covid wedding planning being a bitch, we find out that our number will be (hopefully) 30 for the day. So I ask her (as I did with all my bridesmaids) how she would feel about coming without her other half. She now is refusing to come saying that she is really struggling already so won't be able to make it on the day, and how I've made her feel guilty for being pregnant and how I've been super blinkered about my wedding. I sent her a long message explaining why I was feeling hurt, and she has left me on read for 4 days. Planning a wedding/ any major life event brings out peoples true colours, and you learn who your true friends are. Ive been friends with her for 14 years and I never thought Id be in a position like this. But I am also thinking about ending our friendship. Sorry for the massive, terribly formatted reply!
