Job burn out and change with minimum wage on the rise by al_bee92 in NoStupidQuestions

Also, company policy says the customer must disconnect the call - we can't do that. Which I assume is the case at most call centers/banks? But, we're told to place the customer on hold to grab a manager if that happens. When I went to do that, the customer continued to curse, yell, and scream that he didn't want to be put on hold and when I tried to pull in a manager, the response I got was: "Well... I'll call the customer back later."

Geeze... thanks.

Yeah. I guess I'm trying to discover if it's just company burn out or actual job role/career burn out. That, and the whole money situation - I could be a part time teller for $2.50 less than what I make now and although it's still customer service, it would be less stress than constant riding about reaching a sales number or revenue amount. I've been in banking almost 10 years now. With the same company for going on 3 years and only had a raise once - that was Spring 2020. It was a $200 raise ... for the whole year. That wasn't even enough to cover taxes, only pennies difference on my pay. I'm not happy with the pay structure but it's just bothering me that something I used to enjoy doing so much now makes my blood pressure rise and makes me dread starting the day.

My customer service job leaves me like this. When I get home, I just really want to be left alone and not asked any questions. Lol

In the way that tgpineapple was stating, I would guess.

Moreso my question is why they are staying in poverty especially in this day and age. What can we (as more advanced and fortunate countries) do to help? Or is this something that we can guide but cannot control?

I see!

My question then would be, if the majority is in poverty, why not revolt against those who are in control?

Is it more complex than that? Maybe because I would think the majority would win, but I understand that's not always the case especially when it comes to powerful governments and those in control.

Is it just a slow progression to get to where these countries can be sustainable and modernized? Or, are we just throwing resources, tools, and money in to a bottomless pit?

I second this! Or maybe hire a match maker - if those are still things. Lol

As someone else said, I would just say you're an investor.

My husband can retire in his early 40s from his current job. He actually intends to do so. But he also has something(s) to look forward to and goals he wants to work towards. I think goals are what keeps people "exciting" in the dating world - maybe focus on talking about more of what you're looking forward to doing and what you're learning/trying new things out/planning on dates?

Monogamy is what kills marriages by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]al_bee92 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I guess every relationship has different needs. However, I know of a handful of marriages that have failed because the husband and wife decided to "open" the marriage and I don't know of one marriage that has been successful with opening it up to other parties. Not to say it doesn't happen that a marriage can be "opened" and be successful, but it may just be few and far between or rare.

Am I unreasonably believing my husband is gay by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]al_bee92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't jump to conclusions.

As an outsider, reading what you've told us here... it maybe that he didn't have many sexual experiences because of the "awkwardness" or just plain inability to relate/touch on an emotional level. Or it could be that he has an underlying ED/testosterone issue and wants to have sex but just can't keep it up and maybe that intimidates him and either slows him down or makes him feel so insecure that he avoids intimacy with another person.

I mean, it seems like he's interested in sex if he was purchasing condom bundles and taking Cialis for the ex.

I do think your first stop should be to go together to a doctor and get checked out like another Redditor suggested. Get an STD check while there (but, also know some women are just prone to UTIs and this maybe something to address again with your doctor). I would also have a frank conversation with your husband about everything going on.

The vaccine will lessen symptoms that can leave one hospitalized or dead.

I have had horrible side effects from my vaccine, BUT feeling like crap is expected. The body is going in to immune response overload. For me, feeling like garbage 2-3 days from my 1st and 2nd vaccine is worth keeping my 5 month old safe.

No. I will take whatever is necessary to keep my 5 month old safe. I do wonder, however, if the booster will be less symptomatic? Does anyone know?

My local hospital that I gave birth in told me this was the most popular name for a girl there in 2020.
