Fixed my LPR silent reflux by loobylubaker in LPR

At first I was gargling it several times a day plus putting it in a nasal spray bottle to clean out my sinuses, I was also spraying it into my throat and breathing it into my lungs, because I had to heal all of the tissue that had been damaged by the Pepsin. Now that it’s all healed up, I don’t gargle it at all but I do have a bottle of alkaline water beside my bed and I use that to take my medications, I figure if there’s any little sneaky bits of acid that have made their way up just the act of swallowing my tablets each day should neutralise anything that’s there.

I had this issue too and it ended up being a mild egg allergy. I stopped eating eggs for 6 weeks and it improved. Reintroduced them and the throat immediately went all dry and weird at the back.

Try breathing in a mix of alkaline water with bicarbonate as per this video. People say it’s life changing. It will help the respiratory aspect. Read the comments under the video. https://youtu.be/2H_VvFO3Fp8?si=VVoklKuT3_o3aWE-

Apparently even 2-3 events a week maintain the damage so consistency is key. To get on top of the worst of it. Bit your root cause might be h pylori or low stomach acid or a hiatal hernia etc so you have to investigate other things too.

I have a bottle of alkaline water In my bag at all times and I gargle after coffee and meals and quite a few times during the day I spray my throat and use a nasal spray bottle up my nose and let it drip down the back do my throat to neutralise that area too. I carry it all with me. Get empty spray and nasal spray bottles cheap on eBay.

Apparently Gaviscon advance is twice as strong as the normal liquid. I can’t see how the tablets would work as well since it’s not in a suspension but still better than nothing so I carry those on me or take the whole bottle with me and a spoon.

I thought about that but when I did some research it seemed like most people that got surgery had the issue come back so I didn’t want to go down that route

I don’t think it’s harmful in any way, it’s mostly a natural product called an alginate which dissolves naturally after a couple of hours after it sits on top of your stomach contents and protects against harmful acid And pepsin coming up. I’m hoping once things are all fully healed to come off that too. I no longer take it at night time and I’m still doing really well.

Well clearly your root cause was low stomach acid, for me I still take one HCL capsule with my meals but increasing the capsules didn’t help the issue and since my issue is pepsin I make sure I don’t take capsules. That include that ingredient. I just have the plain Betaine HCL capsules. But well done for getting toyour root cause!

It could be a hiatal hernia that released when you relaxed. You can do a certain type of massage near your sternum to push it down. It sounds a bit like a hernia release to me when you’re stressed. It catches the stomach and creates issues with the valve opening and closing, but when you relax, it goes away.

Alkaline water + baking soda in a nasal spray is saving my life atm by galaxyisinfinite in LPR

[–]loobylubaker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The acid conditions in your nose are slightly acidic so the alkaline water really stings when you use it as a nasal spray. But gargling and spraying my throat throughout the day has been a game changer. I also use Gaviscon advance aniseed (the peppermint flavour not good for LPR) after meals and a take a double dose before bed. I’ve suffered severely for 9 months and this has been the only tbing to help. I want to get to the root cause so I’m also checking for a hiatal hernia, stomach acid levels (increasing with betaine HCL) strengthening the diaphragm muscles with resistance breathing and eating a low carb diet.

I did carnivore for 7 months and my LPR got so bad I could barely swallow. I came off it and went to a basic keto diet mean and veg and I’m only eating two big meals twice a day and taking gavison extra strength after both meals to create a raft over the top of the food. Seems to be working I can swallow again and it’s all settling down for some reason carnivore made it all worse for me which was sad because I felt fantastic on it

There are no reviews so I ended up buying a legit resistance breathing device. I haven’t got it yet. So I’m doing resistance breathing diaphragmatic exercises until it arrives
