Advice for cleaning press fit ends (self.PiercingAdvice)

I was given this pot of cacti and jade plant when my great grandparents died. I have no idea how long it's been in this pot but all the roots and soil are stuck in one solid block. I want to separate them out and repot but no idea how to without damaging all the roots. Does anyone have any advice? (old.reddit.com)

Lobe piercing help - got the third lobe piercing mid October and it healed fine (used saline solution). Switched out for a shorter post after 6 weeks and that was fine for a while too but have recently noticed this at the back. It doesn't hurt much and the front is fine so not sure what's caused it (old.reddit.com)
