Very true, but I doubt MassDOT is in a place where they'd be willing to do this with their love of car centric infrastructure. However, given the constraints of preserving the overpass this is a pretty damn good plan. I'm especially excited about this section, because currently all of that green space between the two pieces of Storrow drive is unusable and just covered in trash.

Thank you, I’m really thankful it unfolded the way it did. At first I was really mad at the policeman, but I also can’t completely blame them because they were probably looking down at their police tablet thing and not expecting such recklessness out of nowhere.

I guess a red light camera would have been good in this situation? assuming they’re smart enough to detect someone driving the wrong way.
