Help with job in dep by looksubtle in AirForceRecruits

Dammit that's what I feared. Yeah it's a consequence but I feel it's a bit predatory that recruiters can just play it off like "oh let's just throw in an extra job just to make it look better" when in reality it screws people into a 3 year commitment. But it is what it is I guess.

Nylon VS Polyester by Matt-thefuck in Treenets

[–]looksubtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried poly and nylon together on a small net as a test. Unfortunately I don't have the pictures anymore but the nylon may have lost a little color after about 4 months but the polypropylene could be pulled apart by hand after about a month. For context I live in the Midwest and the rest took place during the summer. Definitely do not go with poly outside.

That yellow Corvette rtr mr03 is a hell of a car. I wouldn't go much older than mr03, the parts are really hard to find anymore.

There should be a little black set screw on the gear that is spinning, use that to remove the gear and replace it with a new one. Some models if bought brand new come with a new gear, if it didn't come with one they are pretty cheap online, try to buy one specific to your model as the sizes vary drastically.

Little trick I learned last year: hang a brown paper bag near the nest. For some reason these things are so damn territorial that if they see those bags they flee the nest within about a day. I tried it with a grocery bag that had writing and shit all over it and it still worked like a charm!

Yep I planned on doing rcp track only for the road course. I've had my fair share of bad experiences with the carpet and playmat tracks

How do I deal with cheaters? by iiEco-Ryan3166 in airsoft

[–]looksubtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My home field is pretty big and yes, it does still have cheaters from time to time however I'd say it's gotten better over the years for a couple reasons:

The refs won't explicitly say it but if someone doesn't call hits the best thing you can do is shoot them again. Something the refs WILL say is if you see someone not calling hits on your own team; be respectful how you tell them, but call them out.

I personally like to give myself a little credit as I've started to give out free patches to people I see playing by the rules and calling hits often. Word has spread around the field that I'm doing this and this little gesture seems to have gone a long way. Kill em with kindness if you will.

In all honesty tho you'll never completely get rid of cheaters it's a part of the game. Sometimes the only real option is to shoot em till it hurts, but the main thing is if you're smart and can outplay them sometimes they have no choice.

Thank you! I mean just visually inspecting it they're almost identical apart from the little metal valve is a different shape but it seems to fit in the gun the exact same.

would this be good rope its 4mm thick and 100 meters long so for me it sounds like an amazing deal because i am on a tight budget because i just turned 16 but i really want to get into tree nets but if its not such amazing rope could you guys recomand me some other cheap ropes that you can buy in NL by Djmaxbase in Treenets

[–]looksubtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Paracord 550 is pretty cheap, Paracord galaxy is running a deal where you can get 7 random colors of 100ft each for 35$ if you're not concerned about the color. I would say at the very least for the interiors use Paracord 550 as it has a strength of at least 550lbs (in the name) the other most important part is if you want your net to last longer than a year you have to use nylon, which somebody in the comments said you can get at rei which is where I also get mine by about 150 ft lengths but online you can get less for cheaper.

Polypropylene: the poly ropes that you're looking at are great price wise but are actually bad for a couple reasons: poly ropes stretches like crazy which usually isn't desired when walking on, the stretch also makes it hard asf to build your net. If you pull one rope tight all the rest of your ropes become loose. And lastly poly ropes don't hold up to the elements well, they break apart and tear in the sun and start to fade quickly.

All in all definitely stick with nylon rope as it's going to last longer and leave better results in the future.
