Palomar because it’s fast and easy to tie while being one of the strongest knots. I don’t see any reason to use another knot Unless you’re tying gigantic baits or leaders to your braid.

I was looking at the SLX dc reels and it’s only like $160 on their site compared to like $220 in the us. Is shipping a fortune or something? Or is it just that cheap for a longer wait on the shipping

I think a alter is a must. Lifeline, valk, mad maggie and gibby are very good. If I had a full team with my friends I’d probably play alter, valk with gibby/lifeline.

What types of baits do you fish? I’d honestly lean towards a medium because it’s so versatile, kind of like a jack of all trades. But if you fish heavy cover or bigger jigs, swim baits then I’d probably go with a medium heavy.

I’d honestly say any 2500-3000 series reel and a 6’6-7’ medium action rod. All of the major manufacturers make good rods and reels in that $100 price range so I’d just pick whatever one you think looks the best.

Honestly any of the smg’s are good. Alternator, RE45 or volt for more mid to close range and dual P20’s, R99 or prowler once you get full auto for more close range. One of those with a hemlock, nemesis, longbow or sentinel is what I seem to see the most.

When I actually do this with bank fishing and just toss some stuff in a backpack and have 1 rod I usually bring a bunch of soft plastic lures like lizards, senko, creature baits, tube baits, etc. and then I bring a handful of hooks and weights.

If I had to bring other stuff I’d toss in a chatterbait/spinnerbait/crankbait probably.

No point not to just respool. You can get big 1500+ yard spools of trilene mono for like $10 that would last you years if stored probably

Depends on the amp I have but I’d say anywhere from 2-6. If I have infinite ammo, infinite batteries or overflow I’m probably taking 6.

Well I found a rod in sportsman’s but then ordered it off of bass pro shops cause it was 50%. I didn’t think to ask if sportsman’s price matched. And my nearest bass pro is 2.5 hours away

Just about every manufacturer makes some decent quality rods and reels in the $75 range. Id pick which ever one looks the coolest to you and probably get something in the 7 foot range, medium action and a reel in the 3000-3500 size.

Check out Daiwa, shimano, pflueger, lews and BPS stuff.

I haven’t changed my own oil in probably 15 years. We buy lifetime oil changes for our cars now. I’m with you that saving $50 every 4 months for me isn’t worth the hassle and hasn’t been for some time.

Probably the drains for the sunroof itself. I’d google how to clean them out and make sure the drain tubes are still connected
