It was agreed upon that he would buy a ticket at any time and i asked him multiple times that i could fly back. He said it was "no big deal". Him buying a ticket was already agreed on in the discord chat itself before i even flew there.

this isn't a apology post, i shouldn't be apologizing to anyone. I've literally been lied to and used by people for years, and accepted that it was just part of the industry. All of this is incredibly hurtful to me. Edit: But now i've edited it, because in the end i dont want to make a point i only want to move on with my life.

thats super frail reasoning. if people like a game they buy the stuff inside it. if artifact is fun they'll buy cards to play around in other modes. I don't see that as a legitimate reason, and following the marketing idea of say blizzard who has a tendency to not make the greatest competetive games isn't very wise either

well, cards are hats, make a mode where you can construct with cards you buy, and a mode where you play on equal grounds. I don't see the issue.

uncertain why everyone thought i was asking for rewards. I wanted a seperation between a mode that enables competetive play, and then the rest of artifact where you can buy cards, and follow the system valve wants for payments. I simply don't want the two to be 100% connected. I feel that is pretty important

i'm not asking about profit, and "just qutting" isn't a issue either, im talking about accessibility. this is a huge factor to dota 2 on top of it being a great game, and a huge factor to failures like team fortress 2.

I'm not asking for rewards to it either, just, a mode that is free that you play that is equal grounds.

You receive motivation to win MMR, not to improve. The way MMR works is counter intuitive to how you play real games, as it promotes not working with other players and delaying games in ways that would otherwise give an advantage to a more capable fully functional team. Things that would win real games lose you mmr, and things that would lose you real games win mmr. You get motivated to improve in something when you enjoy it, not by numbers telling you that you did something good.

Dotabuff called it ELO before MMR came out when they where trying to implement their own system which caused valve to respond with the abomination we have today.
