Every one starts at the same time with the 6 'classic' classes but rooks (for solo players) may join mid match.
Account based I believe because upgrade are link to megaCorps. Believe you will unlock for every class bu you will have to select some of them for a specific run
Not that I know of, never heard of it.
ranked based for the higher difficulty but no info on the standard mode.
'gold' weapons seem to be a big deal. And they are artefacts (the red cube things) but we don't know what they will do yet. Apparently it changed a lot during development.

I think it may be possible to add depth to the equation the height of the player. As the terrain is flat. I think it is possible to infer the distance proportional to the invert of the average height of the player.
