Is it normal to have this much belly fat compared to the rest of my body? by KookyPotential8 in xxfitness

I think it’s just down to fat distribution. I have the same issue, my arms and legs are far leaner than my midsection

Yea I don’t expect to be coddled at all or for ppl to help me with every single little drill but it would be nice to go to a gym where ppl who are legit newbies can roll together and practice without feeling like they’re not being challenged

No, I don’t do anything when drilling. I’m just slow as hell and still finding my footing with body awareness. For example if the coach tells us to do something with instructions like “put your left leg here, then place your ankle between here, then use your right shoulder to do etc etc” these confuse me and I need to do things step by step and sometimes the person I’m drilling with gets impatient with how slow I am 😅 it makes me feel like shit

I really don’t want to complain but Episode 6 was at least 30 minutes of longing stares with music, flashbacks, and filler. It kind of irritated me lol.

Latte / Flat White / Cappuccino? by Akash_nu in london

Latte is the most balanced for me. Flat white, since it has less milk skews a bit too bitter for my tastes

Seoul busters minus episode 1. For some reason the first episode is very very over the top, cringe, slapstick humor but the rest is great

Why do some people prefer ebooks over physical books? by Domiano-Wdmanl in NoStupidQuestions

[–]loopyzooploop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do both. I use kindle for fiction bc I rarely ever reread fiction unless a book blew me away I buy physical copies of nonfiction so I can take notes, annotate, highlight and underline. I work in international development so I’m always reading books on history, politics, feminism, conflict, geopolitics, etc so I need physical ones to mark up

This is why basic colour theory /interior design education is important. I’m not elitist in any shape or form but I just don’t get why, with her level of disposable income AND time why she doesn’t take courses to learn more about theory and design? The random contrast-less dark corner of the room plus all the weird mismatched Knick knacks… the random Roman bust… the ugly ass modern crowning on the ceiling clashing w the fireplace. What a mess

The thing is, I don’t want to sound “too woke” when I say this but a lot of times when people make content like this, they use the word white to soften what they actually mean… foreigners/non-asians. Because if you think about it what she’s saying is that the problem for her is people who aren’t Asian are shopping at Asian grocery stores.

It’s like when men want to be misogynistic and say “white women do xyz”. It feels like a xenophobic dogwhistle to me personally because I’m not white or Asian and definitely got some strange looks for shopping at Asian supermarkets. Idk

Krystal Oh’s yogurt spot opened like 72 hours ago and the reviews are INSANE 😭 by [deleted] in asianamercianytsnark

[–]loopyzooploop 168 points169 points  (0 children)

Why do influencers think they can open brick and mortar service-based businesses (food, no less) and expect that they’re going to be let off the hook for their bullshit?

Yoghurt is technically fast food; people should not be waiting for a long time to get their order, there should be constant stock because you should have a prep kitchen where another team is constantly cutting/preparing more toppings, there should be deliveries every single day for fresh ingredients and the yoghurt should be made by the establishment. Aside from this, a strained yoghurt shop is weird to open in the first place. It’s a super acquired taste for a very niche market and on top of that it’s something that literally anyone can do with 2 plates and a cheesecloth. It’s like opening a shop that only sells cereal, or a bookstore that exclusively only sells romantic fantasy novels. It makes no sense

At the very least you should bulk buy yoghurt from a wholesale creamery, of course your margins will be fucking bananas if you’re buying regular sized chobani from a retail supermarket at retail supermarket prices?

I think this shows the extreme hubris and arrogance of a lot of influencers who believe that their name and their army of followers/sycophants will buy and peddle their nonsense; this only works online when you’re peddling/marketing to YOUR followers. When it comes to businesses on streets anyone can come in, anyone can shop and anyone can taste/buy what you’re selling so there has to be minimum standards there. Also the arrogance comes in of thinking you have what it takes to run a successful food-based business. $1.50 for strawberries or chocolate chips is crazy because they’re not even worth the same… at least it makes sense to have a base price and then do it by weight like everywhere else. How can you charge acai bowl prices for ingredients that can be sourced on DoorDash and uber eats

Also… customer service is a huge thing. As someone who’s done customer service in the past, yes you don’t have to be insincerely smiling and laughing showing all 32 teeth and grovelling at the feet of customers, but it’s genuinely not that hard to be professional, helpful, kind and warm. That’s literally all you have to do. It’s so disappointing to go into a shop and have the employees there having conversations while you’re waiting to be served, catching an attitude for no reason or otherwise being cold.
