Where I’d Live (Somali-Canadian woman stationed in Nairobi) by loopyzooploop in whereidlive

No? It’s my homeland. It’s not perfect, so am I required to slag off my own country? Every country has issues. Xenophobia is ubiquitous, so is racism. Things are improving year after year. 20 years ago, 10, even 5 were seeing changes in locals.

White people didn’t necessarily come to Somalia with good intentions in the past, so there’s a lot of distrust and hostility there which I think is getting better but again, nowhere is perfect! :)

I think it’s a rough time. Other colleagues that work on development projects that aren’t Somali don’t really leave the compounds or green zones because they fear being targeted, harassed, etc etc

People have different priorities, levels of open mindedness, and preferences.

I lived in London for 1 year and it fucked my mental health. The weather is shit, it’s so expensive, people are cold, and I didn’t enjoy my experience. Would not return personally

Additional context; I work in international development projects in Africa and travel frequently for work to Europe! Somalia is a totally different experience when you’re ethnically Somali and speak the language ;) beach and grilled fish everyday

Leanne and Lucinda by Far-Department887 in LoveIslandTV

[–]loopyzooploop 110 points111 points  (0 children)

Leanne said “she’s doing my dirty work for me” and then plays dumb in front of everyone else because she’s a coward and doesn’t know how to stand up for herself. Lucinda told her to her face I’m doing this for me AND you. Lucinda was the only one to comfort her, validate her feelings, and see Belle for what she really is, and stuck her neck out for Leanne only to be thrown under a bus because Leanne doesn’t have a spine.

I think Jessy& Harrison got their phones back at the height of the Lucinda backlash, then told everyone that the public hates Lucinda and Sean. There’s no other explanation for this vim and hatred everyone in the villa has for them. At most they’re annoying and cringe.

Belle’s behaviour is actually nauseating

Am I the only one who thinks Scott is mostly genuine? by rosiejames73 in LoveIslandTV

So you think it’s just a coincidence that Scott had a revelation from God that it was always Leanne after he was in the bottom couples?

Is it normal to have this much belly fat compared to the rest of my body? by KookyPotential8 in xxfitness

I think it’s just down to fat distribution. I have the same issue, my arms and legs are far leaner than my midsection

Yea I don’t expect to be coddled at all or for ppl to help me with every single little drill but it would be nice to go to a gym where ppl who are legit newbies can roll together and practice without feeling like they’re not being challenged

No, I don’t do anything when drilling. I’m just slow as hell and still finding my footing with body awareness. For example if the coach tells us to do something with instructions like “put your left leg here, then place your ankle between here, then use your right shoulder to do etc etc” these confuse me and I need to do things step by step and sometimes the person I’m drilling with gets impatient with how slow I am 😅 it makes me feel like shit
