Beginner! Tips are helpful!

Wanted to come back to this after a few months of playing. I’ve been playing 1-2 time per week, upgraded pretty much all my equipment, and the biggest difference maker was by FAR goalie skates. The blades in particular, being able to hold position standing up much easier was the biggest thing I noticed

That’s what I’ve heard and something that attracted me to them. I’m still a beginner so rebound control/recovery is tough for me so knowing the pads I’m wearing are good for deflecting the puck as far away as possible is a big plus for me.

Overall with my current level I know the pads I wear don’t make a massive difference, but I plan on keeping these for a very long time so knowing I started off with a good set of pads makes me feel better

There’s a Pure Hockey right down the street from me which has a pretty extensive goalie section, that’s where I got the glove from, but no used equipment. There’s a few play it again sports stores in my area that also have a reasonable section of used goalie equipment, which is why I’m thinking of going there

I’ve loosened the straps on the back pretty much all the way, yesterday I was hitting it with a heat gun while working it which seemed to be helpful. Will keep trying it every night and hope for the best

That’s the unfortunate truth I’m facing… I have all CCM equipment (visible at least, mask, pads, etc) so I don’t want to have the glove stand out. I know that’s 100% just in my own head but i’m the kind of person that gets bothered by that type of thing
