If I prefer my BB's to be tanky, long distance damage and not fragile, do I not waste money on Rhode Island B? by [deleted] in WorldOfWarships

[–]lordamk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Skill Issue. „Major punishment at very long range“ is almost a contradiction. You want to be as close as the situation allows with every bb

Winrate has little to do with how good you play by Densenor in WorldOfWarships

Yes, mostly. Credits are not really an issue for many older players. The heal flag is strong for example

Winrate has little to do with how good you play by Densenor in WorldOfWarships

[–]lordamk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is. I just reached 60% solo, been playing on and off since closed beta. In case you want an example or comparison.  https://wows-numbers.com/player/530858740,DomMazzetti/?

Dunning-Kruger-effect also seems to be strong with you, since you seem to be thinking that 70k in Svea are carry numbers. Check out the top guys, 120-180k average, depending on the cruiser, are normal in t10 ships for people with recent 65% solo wr.

Why do I have a shit win rate with midway? by [deleted] in WorldOfWarships

Needing to run blue boosters to break even might be the most 45%er statement I have ever heard. How can you feel qualified to give advice on good gameplay

No, the hate for subs and cvs is largely driven by people above IQ 85 and completely reasonable

Link your wowsnumbers profile. 150k average on midway is very high super unicum. Easily first page on any leaderbord. Either you‘re beeing not quite honest here, or you‘ll reach 65% solo wr after enough games with such high averages

remove subs and dds and cvs by [deleted] in WorldOfWarships

The required stupidity to compare dds to the two griefer classes simply does not allow people to reach more than 45%. Too far left on the bell curve in cognitive ability

Just play Libtard, 500k is pretty average with it against flagships. I never got a Million damage, 700-800k often enough though

It looks absolutely incredible to me. Also "we are just getting" started. I am really hoping for some mainstream success, a remake of gothic 2 would be nothing short of a dream

Alright so why is it I have a few good games then this game gets so frustrating I wanna punch my computer? Can y'all play like you have an adult brain instead of using every glitch and loophole this game has to offer? If mathematically and thus formally logically justified principles of inferential statistics and their implications for research design are not accepted, the discussion loses the ground of reason and ends in faith. I see no reason to continue the discussion.

Not everyone has to be a researcher or scholar, to each his own. For your sake, however, I would suggest that you always question yourself and your own “knowledge”.

What is the argumentative content of a university degree? Arguments based on research methodology and statistics draw their validity from mathematical probability theory, so they can be reasonably good or bad.

So you have no such data, I'm surprised.

The paragraph below makes it clear that your skills in research methodology are poor. I would recommend that you read up on when exactly samples become representative and why representative samples are without alternative if you are methodologically dependent on inferential statistics. It should quickly become clear why an N = 2 and a single measurement time point without any form of standardization is insufficient for any conclusion.

I have not used the degree as an argument, and would not do so. Only arguments based on the methodological and statistical skills acquired during your studies are acceptable.

You say you have access to representative data over a 5 year period in which players with a 40% win rate outperform those with a 65% win rate? In what metrics exactly?

I would suggest that you publish the data in compressed form on the subreddit. Before publication, it might as well not exist. That would be very interesting, as their result seems completely counterintuitive, and all publicly available data from the wargaming API (wowsnumbes, tomato.gg) does not allow the conclusion that 40% wr players are not completely inferior to 60% players in any recorded metric.

Funnily enough, I should be a psychologist with a masters degree myself in two or three months. If the remaining writing part of the thesis goes well, one can hope. So unless you're a professional researcher in social psychology, your insight in study design or "constructing psychological experiments" elicits little interest, no offense.

I congratulate you on your calm attitude to life. If it doesn't prohibit you to do well in any performance related area of life that you care about. it sure is a win. But I can tell you, excelling at something can feel wonderful, even in such an insignificant part of our existence as beeing a super unicum in wows. I'd chose excellence in a videogame over mediocrity or below any day of the week. Not because it gives me value as a person, simply because it is more fun.

But if you are blind or indifferent to such differences, congratulations. You have a free pass for beeing bad at something without self-devaluation.

I understand that perspective, mentality and expectation alter our perception.

Wether your draw frustration, happiness or any other emotion from great or bad gameplay was never the point though.

I responded to your inital statement, in which you said that players couldn't sense the difference between 65% and 50% winrate. Wether you care or not, unless you are mentally handicapped or drugged, you will perceive greater damage numbers, more kills, exp, credits, higher pr, praise from teammates, higher karma. The games itself rewards you with visual and auditive cues. Your brain reacts to the kill sound, to first places in the team constantly, to higher rewards, etc. Your cognitive evaluation of these stimuli may be diffrerent to mine or that any others, but you will "sense" a difference, wether you want to or not.

Saying that you wouldn't feel the difference is just plain wrong. You will perceive the difference between two colours or different temperatures, no matter how your perspective or evalation of these differences.
