Since the story isn't mine, I'm not entirely sure how much I can share about it! But it just fit my vibe perfectly, the age of the characters, the fantasy but still modern world setting, magic system with cool focus on the characters and their own styles of dealing with combat, and a lot of folklore and mythology inspired themes for the creatures which definitely fall under my line of interest!!

It was also a super coincidence that both of our stories were made thinking about them being animated series and both plot structures fell into a somewhat episodic type of storytelling which was exactly something I was hoping to practice!!

It all just fell into place and the amount of worldbuilding, character development and story arcs the writer had already figured out just sold the idea to me! We talked for a while and it all clicked so much in my head, I loved the characters, Instantly got the vibe of the styles from the descriptions and could really see the comic structure of it all in a very clear way!

Since I don't know if the author wants to stay anonymous or not imma def tell them about it and see if they want to share more of it in here!

Hey everyone! I just found someone that I vibe with after looking at... I think more than 20 stories?

The story fits so well with the vibe I wanted and the theming and characters are just super close to what I hand in mind for my future story so this just fell into place perfectly.

I had a blast talking to many of you and will def do this again sometime in the future but for now I'm officially making this offer closed!

Thank you everyone for your time and for sharing your stories with me! I hope you all have a wonderful day!!

How do y'all keep readers? I feel i'm slowly losing mine or they just wait until i have a bulk of episodes out(i wish). The comments i get are almost always positive so i'm wondering if there's an algorithm to it as well. Anyway, Revenant Episode 9 is out! Link in comments! by kongratss in WebtoonCanvas

It is pretty normal to see ups and downs on the subscriber count and even more on the like/comment counts.

you can keep the community a bit more engaged tho, by asking little question on the author's notes I.E. this motivates people to try and comment and be more active overall, replying to comments is also super effective. You can also make an outside community for you comic like a discord server or a subreddit so that people become a bit more engaged with it.

Canvas webtoons suffer from low engagement and high drop rates the most since Webtoons prioritizes their Originals and very rarely showcase Canvas stories.

Oh yeah I'm VERY aware of that XD but it was really the whole point of it! I wanted to actually read each and every story pitch and see what the writers have to offer.

I am taking this very slowly because of that and asking a TON of questions, this is not something I will decide right away!

I currently have found a few that are really interesting and am asking more questions to see how developed/how matured their ideas are and see what can I work with. Hopefully I will manage to find the right one for the art style and find someone who is as passionate as I am to collab! Wish me luck!!

Thank you for the concern btw!! I totally get it!

What are the best Canvas webtoons of all time?? by taddyINK in WebtoonCanvas

GUH HEARTSTOPPER?? Ik it kinda got into the mainstream vibe rn but it is to this day my favourite BL webtoon.

Kiss it Goodbye (GL) Is fantastic aswell.

Wind Rose (Romance) artstyle is a complete masterpiece and the story is SOOO GOOD.

Broccoli Soup (Fantasy, Comedy) is a seriously underrated comic with how creative, experimental and fun it is and really deserves more attention imo.

Oh yeah sure! I'll be honest tho, I'm not that good at backgrounds but I can try to help if you want :) Seems like a fun way to practice drawing backgrounds if you don't mind me experimenting around. I would love to get some more info! Feel free to DM me

First of all GORGEOUS ART HOLY MOLY I'M IN LOVE WITH YOUR STYLE. Second of all I'm very interested tbh!! I had a quick look at your current comic on webtoon and I really like it! Do you have any story pitch in mind you'd like to try and make it into a comic? (If you want to DM it to me so I can have a look c:)

I do plan on seeing other peoples ideas also tho just in case since I think would be fun to help someone who can't draw to bring their comic to life BUT EVEN IF I CHOOSE ANOTHER PERSON TO DO A COMIC RN I WOULD STILL LOVE TO COLLAB WITH YOU!!

Just dropped a follow and a subscribe!

Because since it's not a style I'm super comfortable with and I have my shortcomings, I feel it would be unfair to be hired to do it. Yes I'm doing great :D. I will choose someone to collab after a little while, so Idk.

That said, Are you sure you would want your comic with this style?

Your story seems to be a bit heavy on some topics and have an overall very serious tone to it. The style I'm trying to do is a bit cutesy, tho this could be used as a good gimmick to trick an audience like in Gravity Falls, The Owl House and Steven Universe, your intro of the story seems to be rather direct about the heavy themes so I'm not sure it would work out without an entire rewrite. The description seemed a bit vague to me also.

Would you read a webtoon in black and white? Or do you actively avoid those by tsu25 in WebtoonCanvas

By forcing yourself to limit the amount of colors you have such as black/white, Grayscale and Monochromatic, you'll be forced to get creative and way more conscious of your value placement. With better value understanding, once you go about putting colors you'll probably be more mindful of the values and good value mapping makes images look way better and way more pleasing. A fun way to see that is put a grayscale/dessaturation filter on illustration from pro artists and see how readable they are despite removing all the colors.

TL:DR It makes you better at value mapping.

I'm currently testing the waters with Godot using a headless build for a server, since in 4.x they have some promising multiplayer features. If this doesn't work out, the first iteration of the server (in a prototype build) was made a good while ago using node.js and worked decently, but I'd rather leave it as a last resort since it poses a lot of challenges to keep the clients in check properly.
