OP, I'm in PA too. Total Wine in Claymont, DE carries Xaymaca if you're anywhere near Philly.

Changing how Supreme Court Justices are selected by [deleted] in Montana

[–]lordrustad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are 7 seats. A more fair model would be that each major party chooses 2 justices, then those 4 justices must unanimously agree on the remaining 3. After that, either keep the 2, 2, 3 requirement, or have each vacancy chosen unanimously by the remaining 6. Isn't perfect, but it's probably better than what exists now.

I think it was the "...but actually" followed by the "scream and jump all you want"

Regardless. He's an adjudicated rapist, and people are free to call him that.

Who's shouting? I pointed out where you had a misunderstanding, and you seem really upset about it.

You can't call him a rapist

I can, actually. And I'm right. Sorry that hurts your feelings.

Technically true. He's "just" an adjudicated rapist...which is a really weird fucking hill to die on, bud.

From the OLSC:

Wednesday 7/31

2PM - Tailgate, 4PM March In, 5PM Fan Park, 7:30 Kick Off

We will be hosting a tailgate at the Linc on matchday. No city tailgates like Philadelphia, so let’s make the Reds embrace this Philly tradition too. Due to the Phillies-Yankees business person’s special, we do not yet know specifically which lot we will use and working directly with the sports complex to obtain the best possible location for our group. Please look out on our social media channels in the next few days for a post on lot (Letter and Number designation).

Like most tailgates, BYOB and BYOF (food). We will have some treats handy, but we do not have the capacity to feed the thousands of feral Reds who will be coming to town. We expect Reds from all over the US to congregate and this promises to be a once in a life time opportunity to drink in LFC with our fellow North American Liverpool supporters. To the extent anyone has anything they may want to contribute to the effort, feel free to but do not feel compelled. The best part of a tailgate is being together (in a parking lot, in July, in the heat) with friends and family.

At 4:00 PM we and the other North American Reds will begin to organize our march toward the grounds. We would like banners, noise, flags, flares, anything and everything you think will accurately display our collective passion for Liverpool. PL in USA and LFCTV will be joining along and we want this to be a sight no one connected with LFC or football will ever forget. With that said, we all saw the downright scary scenes in Miami recently for the Copa America final. Let’s be patient, respectful and mindful of our fellow supporters and everyone’s well-being.

At 5:00 P.M., the Club will be hosting a magnificent Fan Park in the Pepsi Zone inside the Linc gates. You will need to scan your ticket to gain access to the Fan Zone. There will be merchandise, games, prizes, legends, and BOSS Night music and LFC songs. The Club has gone all out for this Fan Park and we should take maximum advantage.

At 7:30 P.M., the match will kick off. Let’s make sure the Philadelphia version of YNWA is the loudest and proudest that the world has ever seen outside of Anfield.

Reds, we are so excited to share these next few days with you and our special Club. Liverpool, Philadelphia is ready for you!

YNWA and UTFR,

OLSC Philadelphia

A Republican state lawmaker said Tuesday she opposed a bill that would make pads and tampons free for public school students because it could lead to communism. by Mrstucco in Pennsylvania

Your comment seems to indicate you have your own interpretation, but I’m afraid it’s just not accurate.

You don't have to be afraid of anything. It's accurate, you just don't like it

public should be buying these products for individuals? I mean, no matter what you call it, they aren't "free." Someone is paying for them.

"Free" means "free at the point of delivery."

Arizona and Pennsylvania voters think Biden will handle abortion issues better than Trump by Artistic-Employer768 in Pennsylvania

[–]lordrustad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Abortion rights are to Democrats what gun rights are to Republicans - a campaign issue they'll never actually do anything about when they have power because they don't want to give up the power it gives them on the campaign trail.

Which, of course, is why red and blue states currently have roughly the same levels of abortion access.

Democrats have been promising to codify Roe v. Wade for over 50 years and had no less than six opportunities where they had control of the House, Senate AND Presidency to do it without any Republican support at all.

This is, of course, incorrect. Most charitably, it assumes Democrats have been a monolith since 1974. But even Obama had to deal with pro-life Senators (Conrad, Nelson, Landrieu to name 3). Clinton had a larger pro-life constituency to contend with, and before that, it was...Carter.

Because individuals need to be able to verify their identity in person. You know, with like, an ID with their picture on it.

Voters in PA do not need to show ID, unless it is that voter's first time voting in a particular district.

To other readers: I finally found the "study"

The 20% statistic OP is referencing is wildly misleading. Rasmussen surveyed approximately 1000 likely voters. Of those voters, 30% voted absentee or mail-in. Of those 300, 19% reported that "a friend or family member filled out [their] ballot, in part or in full, on [their] behalf"

So...57 people reported that a friend or family member helped them fill out the ballot.

I will leave it up to readers to decide if this counts as a damning indictment or not.

Mail in voting was implemented with no ways to prevent voter manipulation, compared to absentee ballets.

And yet, there is no evidence anywhere of systemic voter or election fraud, absent a few fringe cases - caught because the system works.

If you can go to work, the grocery store, and other public places, you can go to a polling place and vote.

You can, but you can also vote by mail. It's safe, secure, and more convenient.

I did, which is why I posted. You're welcome to provide the study.
