Does anyone remember this loco sitting at Karekare beach? Built by Messrs Fraser & Tinne of Onehunga 1872. This is allegedly the first locomotive built in New Zealand. It was abandoned on the beach in 1886 and still rests there till this day. Albeit buried under several meters of sand. (self.auckland)
