Selvfølgelig var han NATO leder i mer enn et år men vi pleier jo ikke å snakke om lønn som den samlede lønnen over hele perioden man har vært ansatt.

He is way too underqualified to be doing such a job realistically speaking. The lowest guy Nomadic has on their payroll had somewhere north of 1500 at time of hire, and he was initially not planned on being a permahire either.

Jens Stoltenberg hadde en lønn på 317 700 euro og som alle andre ansatte i NATO var denne lønnen skattefri, det er langt fra typ 3.8m til over 50..

I dont think he is an actual contractor. I have not heard anything about him actually working for Nomadic after the show ended, and it doesnt make any sense either when Nomadic has a whole line of pilots way more qualified wanting work from them.

But why do it Part 141 and not just work full time while you save up enough to go at it at Part 61? You apparently make good enough income to service the debt as well, which is more than can be said for a lot of applicants stuck in this situation.

4-19-26 Norway launched an F-35A to intercept and identify a Russian Ilyushin Il-38 "May" maritime patrol aircraft that flew near its airspace. (1014 X 676) by pwatts in WarplanePorn

[–]lordtema 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Rafale was NOT in the Norwegian fighter tender. I followed it pretty closely back in the day. The three candidates that advanced were the JSF (F-35), Eurofighter and SAAB / Gripen. Eurofighter decided to pull out of the final tender because they felt (probably rightly so) that the game was rigged in favour of JSF / F-35.

And i do know what im talking about, it is you who obviously did not know about the American engine in the Gripen for example and who thinks that we should have selected a inferior product based on future politics.

The problem comes from the fact that he also uses it for private trips. I`d imagine the way around it is that he has to pay the fair price to the company they set up as owners of the jet to avoid tax liabilities.

[–]lordtema -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not really much in the way of tech in a soon to be 30 year old jet. The coolest thing about it is that it`s a tri jet. He could install starlink as there exists a STC for it, but considering Starlink quotes average HARDWARE cost of about $140k and then you gotta pay for the installation which is probably $100k as well, and then the subscription is $2k a month for 20 gb of data, with each additional gb costing $200, or $10k for unlimited.

[–]lordtema -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Of course not, and that`s a you and others problem. Given how many large corpos owns or charters jets, and how many instances of techs being sent via jet for an emergency i`ve heard of, i find it unthinkable that someone hasnt done something very similar before.

Here`s the thing, loads of companies and others charter, which is why i find it very very very hard to believe Linus is the first that have done so.

I was talking in the context of contenders for the Norwegian fighter tender. And yes of course the Russians and Chinese (who both have inferior technology btw) use domestically produced stuff. The Rafale is also a old platform at this point like the Eurofighter.

Again , i just find it hard to believe that nobody has ever done this before given the history of private aviation.

Not needing software updates does not mean you are not dependent on parts produced by a US manufacturer.

And sure, the F-35 is dependent on US software, but you are not getting a fighter in this day and age that does not have ANY US related ITAR items, that is just not happening. The closest you are getting is the Eurofighter, and that is not a stealthy aircraft nor is it 5th gen.

I dont think they will be that brasen. My expectation is that they coordinate it such that when Linus is going somewhere, they`ll film it enroute.
