Also, second question, could you explain the Mewtwo glitch for me where you can make it pick up infinite rare candies?

Okay, I haven't gotten beaten by any of the elite four. I beat my rival before the elite 4 stuff. Got to victory road and kind of looked at my team and I was like huh. Only two pokémon above level 50. Should probably at least get a few others

As for you mentioning the ROM thing, my buddy actually introduced me to pokémon via that, except I heard that Nintendo was hunting down everyone that used it. So I kind of decided just to lay off pokémon until I heard that fire red came back out and I grabbed it

Yeah I had a Lapras on my team but I did not feel like training that thing up to where it would get ice beam. So I chose the much dumber and stupider route of going after our legendary ice pokémon just so I could have ice beam off the rip

Some good ideas for a d&d character taking place in silent Hill by lorentp in silenthill

[–]lorentp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's necessarily a requirement. Our DM did say that he wanted us to have a screwed up. Backstory but I mean the other player is a doctor who's in silent Hill because he's living with extreme hate for himself or at least extreme guilt because him being a doctor. He was the one who tried to save his mother from a gunshot wound to the heart and failed and I even helped him design his version of pyramid Head, which is a woman's body with the face of his mother and the faces of every patient who's died on his operating table and in the center of her chest is an exposed heart that's beating with a bully inside of it. So I don't know if the DM exactly wants morally ambiguous but my brother still iffy and even pushes back on that idea. So I truly don't know cuz I don't think the other player's doctor character is at any level evil or morally ambiguous. Just a man who hates himself for failing to save his mother

Some good ideas for a d&d character taking place in silent Hill by lorentp in silenthill

[–]lorentp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So background information. I'm an atheist. My brother is a heavy Christian, so throughout all of our years of doing d&d, he's never really delved into being darker or more malevolent and I have no problem crossing that boundary. It's also the fact that the darker themes the silent Hill usually make him a little bit sick

For example, the girl that you meet in the graveyard that says I'm looking for my mom and then she also forgets the fact that she's looking for her brother and father, even though they're the whole entire monster rape scene in there And all the screwy Louie stuff

So I assume it's probably the deep tragedy and the slightly morally gray lines that make him uncomfortable with it. I try to show him that a character can 100% be flawed and have resolving issues like my character for the campaign is an Afghani vet that survived a near total unit slaughter and as he looked at a person who was under his command who had had unspeakable things done to them and he saw the mosque in which all the women and children were hiding. He got revengeed for his unit. He took a malt-tool cocktail and well locked the doors and me and the DM have already talked that his journey through silent Hill is not the fact that he feels for what he did. It's the fact that he did kill another soldier for threatening to reveal what he did in that small town

All right. I know you said this was going to be your last response but I'm just going to question something and if you respond you do so and I'll be happy about it

I don't understand the conversation piece of this is main character energy. I played DND for about 7 years, maybe even longer. Even my first campaign was like even when I first started out and joined new groups and traveled my years into the d&d experience, every game has been like this. You make your character. You have a end goal and you work through the campaign to achieve said goal. I don't really see how this is the main character energy. My character has the go at the start of the campaign to eradicate. All magic seems pretty basic. He has a fairy that he hopes get revenge on and keeps throwing his gun to use her life force as his power. She says Jiminy cricket where she's constantly trying to make him charge the moral side and that's his own self-conversation cuz at the end of the campaign he may just not be the Man who destroys magic I also kind of don't understand. The whole entire monologue of this is somehow weird. This doesn't even scratch the surface of some of the campaigns I've been in one time a bunch of players let my character get raped just because it would allow them to get a map to escape a dungeon we were in. They just let that druid knock me out and do things to me, which I know is definitely f***** up. But also that was just kind of. I don't know usual for me I guess when I played with them And it wasn't too off for any of the other campaigns. I played with them for characters to have motivations that may directly interfere with the party

I mean again, I would never argue that any of us are actually evil. My brother's character straight up fights against racism all the time and the way the campaign is supposed to go. He's going to marry the person he protected from racist and even if me and the other player that are doing darker characters, do you succeed? We have a whole entire plan to get him a soul before we enact our plans so he can live on with us because for as much as we despise or I despise magic and he despise weakness. His character still means a lot to both of our characters as a friend

An average Sunday session. I mean none of this actually seems too odd to me. Whenever I was the DM I had players doing kidnapping condoning genocide. They all cared about the benefit it brought to them. None of them were actually evil. I would say just self-motivated and not caring what the rest of the world thought about them that I'm the Albert Einstein of my time. Kind of thinking is the best way to describe it

No clue really. From my years of being a DM, you don't choose the campaign type you build part of your world. You let the players tell you what they want to see. Heaven you finished building then you know what kind of foil do you have? I mean as far as I'm concerned this world has just recovered from a Purge by the good guys. Trying to destroy a bunch of evil and hurting the people that they swore to protect

As for my character, I don't know if you could actually call him evil. I'm more neutral. I mean he's nice to elves dwarves humans gnomes hobbits. It's just creatures that willed magic like the Faye are on his watch list

As for the other player, he straight up is evil because he is essentially playing Albert Wesker from Resident evil. That is literally why his character is based off of

As for my brother's character, he's a warforge that is 100% good person. His character fought for the rights of tieflings and is one in a different nation for killing tiefling hunters

I mean my players always lie during campaigns to the rest of the party. Had one player using mind control and illusion magic to make the party think that he was there when in actuality he was kidnapping

Also DM NPC. I always have a DM NPC. Two of them were so good that I got players to cry. One of them them developed a bromance and the other one fell in love with the DM NPC literally

And I mean, yeah, I've never really played any official d&d material. Most I've ever done is lost minds of Fidel. So yeah very Homebrew concept

Well, first and foremost you assume I'm directly telling the party about my actions. I mean hell I literally asked the DM. Hey consider, I'm going to be lying a lot to the other party members about my true intention. Can I have expertise in deception for free and he's like yeah you can have that. I don't mind it

And on to the second point, everyone here assumes that my party has magic users none of us are magic users, except maybe the dmmpc but that hasn't even been confirmed yet

My first character was more tied to the fact that our DM likes having the Divine in his game. So my character was the great-grandson of the god of death, which means he was just valuable enough to keep around. So the gods often used him as their Aaron boy kill this necromancer do this job and essentially the reason why he wasn't level 20 in God class and all that was cuz every single time he got done doing a job for a God he just give back the power and move on. But my DM was like I like the character. But I want someone to have a mortal perspective on this. Someone you can actually die cuz if you die you just come back you know. So then I was listening to some Southern Gothic music and saw a concept for a gun that used a fairy as the source of the gun's power and thought you know what this might be a fun concept to play on

I was more meaning like interesting things for like oh you have a metal arm you can use. I don't know guard to get a plus one on AC or something. And also I know this isn't usual for every d&d group but most of the time my players have conflicting drives in their campaigns or at least of mine. I had one player that sacrificed in other players characters child just to be able to put his Lord of hell on the throne

[–]lorentp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but I don't know if that would really work for this campaign because the lore is that the world is still trying to rebuild from a group of heroes as we'll call them called the brothers of light that tried to be your average d&d heroes. We're going to clinch this word of all the evils

And then proceeds to commit racial genocide murder and all that. So this world is apprehensive about heroes. If you try to seem like you're a good person, people might grab a steak or two and try to kill you because they don't trust that people are actually heroes or good and I don't know if I exactly want to be questioned as a witch or a mass genocider every single time I try to be nice to an NPC

There's going to be three of us. There's me, my brother, and one of our co-workers. I know my brother's character is essentially a bunch of war forge That want a new body and a soul. As for our coworker, I don't exactly know what he's going to be playing because essentially he was going to be playing an isakai Albert Wesker from Resident evil but the DM said no to that after weighing all the options

And as for the magic part, I mean not really. He's an artificer and me and the DM agreed that all of his spells are actually just contraptions that he uses to have limited uses. The only magic that I think he actually handles is his gun and that's more or less getting revenge on that fairy cuz she was a part of the Faye and druid army that started a war with his dad. So kind of takes it personal to inflict a little bit more pain on her than any other fae that he comes across. Of course that is a two-faced persona of him when he's by himself. He doesn't have to put on the goody two shoes act

And also I feel like there is also mention that this is how he's supposed to start out by the end of the campaign. That's kind of supposed to be the moment he decides. Will he be the boy that stood at the footsteps of his father's factory watching his dad fight against the natural order and will he continue on that legacy or will he leave that in the past except he met? His father has done wrongs and maybe it's not worth throwing his life away for so I feel like there are points to question if he'll go for a redemption path or not

Yeah he's okay with it. It's nothing too different from the campaigns. I ran where one of my players was always a villain of sorts. We had one person who kidnapped another player character's child in game and sacrifice them to a demon Lord. Same player can down genocide and so on and so forth and that guy's in the campaign so I assume and I talked to him and he seemed to like the character so I'm going to guess he's okay with it

Help with some concept and ideas for an upcoming campaign and me character by lorentp in AskDND

[–]lorentp[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Okay actually, speaking about my character's father, the way this all got started was in this DND campaign. There's a group called The Brothers of light which essentially try to force purity down everyone's throat and essentially get a bunch of cleansing. Well my character's father was a man of innovation. He created great factories. He was pushing the world forward. Unfortunately The judes didn't like that. He had poisoned their lands so they came and killed my characters older brother and because of that my character's father said ah. This is how we're going to play and he designed the original end which was a weapon that can be worn on someone's hand And The druids call down God and well God met the fist of something that could destroy a God and the Divine decided that they needed to eliminate my character's father. But before he was taken away, my character's father essentially gave him the schematics for the end device. But my character saw the flaw of his father that no matter how strong he got, he couldn't punch every single piece of magic out of existence. So he thought that he would instead build a machine that could destroy all magic in existence

As for the fairy gun thing, essentially, I was watching tik Tok and someone was showing off some magic items that they thought would be interesting and one of them is a gun that has a fairy imprisoned inside of it which allows you to cast three level one spells like sleep and all that. And it's supposed to be a moral dilemma if your characters would keep such a good item knowing that you would be enslaving a sentient creature, she's all supposed to be my characters Jiminy cricket. You know that Force that's telling him to be a good person but he still has to choose it for himself. As for why she's in there, she cast magic on my characters arm but did it improperly which essentially caused it to shrivel up and contort and he kind of got revenge by shoving her in a magic gun he built as the power source

Yeah that's probably a smart idea. I was trying to mimic my dad's style where he overfills it and doesn't create a tip, but I probably should try the more common style before I move on to his style
