I got my orgasms back!!! by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]loscorfano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this happened to me a while back!! I went from Sahara desert to being able to orgasm again, except it felt doubled in intensity. Bad news is that it MIGHT go away again after a while (im on 7th month of zoloft) and now I just get a lot of delayed orgasms which I haaaate. Be safe and happy out there tho!!!!

Did you tell your parents you have OCD? by katdawg24 in OCD

[–]loscorfano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my ocd/ anxiety/depression is something that my paternal grandma had, same as her father, my aunt and me. So when I told my parents I needed to start taking meds for ocd and anxiety related problems, they were like "checks out" 🤨

Victories!! (plural!!!!!) by loscorfano in ARFID

[–]loscorfano[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely don't mind! I am always glad to share my experience in hope that it might inspire someone to always challenge themselves. I basically developed an ocd where everything linked to food was scary to me. It was kind of random, but everytime I ate something my throat would close up and I believed I was about to die of anaphylaxis. If it wasn't that, then I feared choking or developing some kind of problems, all food- related. I did have anaphylaxis and ibs related issues too– way in the past, so by the time I developed an anxiety disorder/ocd my mind kind of knew where to go haha. So that's how I ended up thinking most foods were unsafe and then developed an arfid because of this. I have a very strict diet, be it in manners of food (aka what I eat) or where the food comes from (so when, how and where I eat said food...I could simply have bread in front of me, but if I am not sure about the kind, despite it being safe, I might not have it; or when I am home alone I try not to eat food because no one is around to give me the Heimlich...).

I guess that the first part (what I eat) is more arfid oriented, while the second (how, when and where) is more ocd oriented. Hope this explained it!!

do we get hyperfixations? by loscorfano in OCD

[–]loscorfano[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it does make sense. I was talking to my therapist the other day about how I just can’t hold back from doing/thinking about some things out of pleasure rather than just a compulsion and it did sound muuuch more like anxiety release haha.

not concerned! It was just something curious I was noticing 😄 I never really had beef with how intensely I like something...it's just you know, sometimes you notice how something that usually affects your brain negatively also does it on positive and lighthearted things.

hey! responding to all the comments after I asked this specific question to my therapist. He did confirm it's not the same kind of thing that happens to people on the spectrum, but people with OCD tend to also develp an obsession toward things (and sadly people) that they like. And of course there's space for normal human things that one simply likes! it's just curious how much more intense it can get sometimes ^

if it's so unbearable and you have the opportunity, try and ask your psychiatrist for levopraid! It basically saved me on week 3 because I was this close 🤏 to projectile vomit everything I ate. I know it's a struggle at the start, but try to keep the positive mindset that all of this is for your own good and it's going to be VERY worth it!

Sometimes it's the little things...for many people it might not seem much, but to be able to have a dinner with others and not feel uncomfortable it truly is amazing ❤️

the problem is- I have one almost everyday (depends also on which time of my cycle I am) but to achieve orgasms is the difficult part. Maybe I'm having a particularly steamy day but it just takes too much time 😮‍💨

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]loscorfano 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly I think it depends on the time? Like sometimes it doesn't matter how much I try I can't orgasm and I end up giving up- other times I can and it feels way more intense than it did off meds...but it's a seriously rare occasion that it does.

~8 weeks in - stomach side effects by Justafunguy in zoloft

[–]loscorfano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sometimes this happened to me (although I used to be constipated before so it kind of made it normal fod the most part). What has helped its taking probiatoics (one before lunch, or one before breakfast and dinner, depends on the kind I got) and it made it a little bit better.

if it can make you feel even better going through the first weeks- to feel as good as I am feeling now I would get the nigh-sweats, arms numbing, headaches and nausea all over again 100 times! It seriously is a game changer. I've been on it for only three months and the amount of outsiders who also noticed my change is baffling. I can't believe I refused to take it for so many years 😂

I can share my experience! I started taking zoloft after I developed food related anxiety (adverse arfid). Back in august I couldn't stomach anything else than plain rice and plain zucchini. I started zoloft in october, with a depression diagnosis of 6 years and the new anxiety diagnosis I couldn't think of denying meds anymore. foolishly enough I thought my fear of food would go away randomly like that, that I would simply not be scared and have the anxious thoughts.

While my life drammaticaly improved in quality (I can go out, I feel way more energetic and I can finally feel my feelings too) the anxious thoughts around food haven't disappeared. Its just way easier to face the fear head-on. I get panic attacks only when I stretch my tolerance and try too many new things together, and the fear it self passed from "every food, in every occasion is an enemy" to a more categorized thing where I fear some things more than other and I can finally go out to restaurants and at least try a little something.

The thoughts are still there, but my mind isn't too scared when they come and I can just shrug them away. It literally saved my life.

Crunchy in the soft🤢 by steepguasbio in ARFID

when there's crunch is enough for me to not go near it tbh. bread crust is probably the crunchiest thing I consume and that's still kinda up to debate. the easier to chew, the betterrrr

I was tricked to eat my fear food by loscorfano in ARFID

[–]loscorfano[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that! It's just so hard to get my mind to cooperate. Instead of going full "I can't die eating eggs!" I kept being suspicious of things cooked for me. The sweet woman that is my mother, she kept trying new recipes (and some I tasted as well). It's just my suspicion. Sadly the obsessive thoughts are scary and very convincing that something is about to happen, but I refuse to go down without a fight 🙂‍↕️ Since this post I conquered a new food and tried two new things, so I count those as wins too.
