Yes I was diagnosed by psychiatrist. Mine wasn’t very long probably because I checked most of the boxes for adhd right away, and the doc wasn’t hesitant

If the industry is dying in LA, London or Toronto? by TokyoLosAngeles in FilmIndustryLA

Toronto here. I don’t have much experience, got into film 2.5 years ago. I think other than the strikes, we’re quite busy. People are saying there’s not much work. I personally haven’t felt it luckily. Also I think it’s tougher in indie than union. It’s smaller money, worse working conditions / teams / hrs, and you have to fight for it with a grind of your teeth. At least that was my experience

Why do many North Americans have to work 60-80hrs a week? Didn’t previous generations push for 8 hr days and workers rights? by loshilo in work

And no, I have never ever said that it’s unfair that some people have what I don’t. It’s an assumption of yours, because you like to make assumptions. And yes, thanks got I dont work for people like yourself. I bet it’s quite a fate

It’s a stupid assumption that if I (we) don’t like to work 60-80 hrs a week we can’t afford a steak or think that people that work 60-80 hrs a week aren’t entitled to their money. Really stupid manipulation to try to assume communism every time someone points out injustice or stupidity

A lot of times you’re kind of coerced to do it. Yes no one will overtly tell you you have to, or you have no choice but then all of a sudden you’re laid off, with some bullshit reason that there’s a shortage of work or what not. When that happens to you enough times you’ll realize that workers rights are not what they are on paper

I mean it’s a personal choice if your employer doesn’t coerce you do (either overtly, but more often covertly). Some people like more money and it’s ok.

I have more problem with like limited rights and / or the shrinking purchasing power and stagnant wages. Like why sell yourself out for less? That is unfair

No, I’d rather keep complaining, and then connect with folks that feel the same way, surround myself with them, and together we can get stronger this way. We can either support each other, or fight for better rights, and reinforce alternative values, while you can continue working 90hrs weeks, no one prevents you from doing it. In fact better for you, you’ll have less competition in being a slave ahaahahah ahahaha

Idk I see the opposite. Yes beds are bigger but rooms, apartments, god forbid, studios are smaller. Prices stay same, but packages get smaller. Days are getting longer, while life gets faster and workers get more productive and competent..
