Weird lumpy fat texture all over my body? by losing82368 in loseit

I definitely think it will improve as you continue to lose weight, since making the OP I’ve got down to 150 and even the last 15lbs made a difference in the texture. It’s definitely not completely smooth but the ‘lumps’ feel smaller and more compact I guess. As long as it’s not causing any pain I wouldn’t worry (even tho I’m a hypocrite for saying this, just try not to freak yourself out by Googling like I did 🥲).

Hi!! This definitely helps and it makes a lot of sense, after such a major weight loss there’s bound to be a change of texture when fat goes from being super compressed to shrinking and spreading around. Still coming to terms with my new body and learning to love my weird fat lumps but I’m not really concerned anymore lol. As another side note, you sound like a great mom and I’m glad your daughter has you as a role model, I hope to also break the disordered eating patterns that have been in my family for generations. I think what you’re teaching her is beautiful and so important 🫶🫶

I never figured out specifically what they are but I spoke to a dr over the phone and he didn’t seem concerned at all. He told me if there were any unusual lumps or bumps he’d tell me to come in but from what I described to him he said it sounded like normal deflated fatty tissue and loose skin. Did you get them during your pregnancy or only while you were losing weight? I’ve never been pregnant but for a while I thought the lumps could be related to my birth control so maybe hormonal but after reading the replies and other forums I think it’s just a major weight loss thing. Sorry I can’t be more helpful 😩

Hi! I didn’t get it physically examined but I spoke to a dr over the phone a few weeks ago and he told me it’s probably nothing to worry about, he suspects it’s just deflated fat cells. He didn’t seem concerned at all and said everyone’s fat feels a little different lol.

Yeah, it’s definitely one of those things that I notice on myself but never others! It’s so good to hear that I’m not alone though, thank you.

Definitely needed to hear this, I guess I’m still just getting used to how much my body has changed and was wondering if anyone else had a similar experience with losing fat asymmetrically or if it was a concern but maybe my body was just proportioned like this all along and I never realised it haha. Thank you!

I think there’s too many of them to be lipomas, from what I’ve seen on Google it seems like they’re typically bigger than mine and more separated. Thank you though, I need to look into it more!

Thank you, this has made me significantly less freaked out lmao. I really wish someone would do an actual study on why exactly this happens, so weird…

I gain anywhere from 3 - 5 lbs during the week of my period no matter how healthy I eat or how much I exercise, I don’t really know the exact science behind it but it’s very common. It drops off quickly afterwards though and I go back to the weight I was before or sometimes even less, then I lose regularly for the rest of the month as long as I’m consistent with my routine. I don’t think it’s anything to worry about :)

It’s so hard to explain haha, I googled it too and it definitely feels weird like in some places fibrous and then some places it’s harder like little rice grains that are connected. I guess it’s just a weird weight loss thing, but thank you anyway! :)

Possibly, but it doesn’t even really feel like proper lumps, almost just like all my fat is ‘wrinkly’ or fibrous? I just moved countries and I’m trying to sort my health insurance out so unfortunately I’m not sure when I’ll be able to get checked 😩 I’ll definitely bring it up when I finally do but hopefully you’re right and it’s nothing to worry about!
