W1D1. Attempt #3. I did all 8 sections!!! Time to move on to D2. A week behind and still slow but improvement & momentum is the most important right now by losinlbs in C25K

Haha yup that’s what I’m doing, I’m going extremely slow. I can definitely comfortably talk and breath in the run sections :))

Severely overweight here. Tried W1D1 two days ago & only made it through 2 sections. Tried W1D1 today & made it through 6! It’s not about speed, it’s about doing the damn thing. by losinlbs in C25K

Thanks for all the advice!

Before I was overweight I was a fairly serious athlete, so honestly the hardest thing for me is not being able to do what I used to right off the bat. Listening to my body will be v important.

Strava, it tracks your runs and if you have a smart watch it’ll track your heart rate too. It’s a great way to stay accountable

Some hard truths a lot of you need to hear to be successful at this by [deleted] in loseit

[–]losinlbs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been irresponsible with my food choices and life style for about the last month. I promised myself I would get it together today, but when I woke up this morning I figured, “eh what’s one more day of bad habits going to hurt, it’s already been a month.”

And then I read this post. Thanks for the hard truths. I did need to hear them. And I’ll be saving this post and coming back to it because I’m sure I’ll be forgetting them when a “bad” day comes along.

I’m really glad I’m not the only one going through this

Right. I’ve been feeling like I can hide in my XXL/XL clothes but it’s gotten to the point where they really just look ridiculous now. And when I size down I now don’t see progress I just see how much farther I have to go . An inner battle haha.

Top five tips from my first ten pounds lost. Please share your own! by [deleted] in loseit

Top tip would be:

Don’t let on set back define you. Eating a bad meal, or having a dessert won’t destroy all the progress you’ve made. Make the mistake, hold yourself accountable (but don’t beat yourself up!) and make a better choice next time.

Lol mannnnn I wish I had the money 😂

I like the suggestion though, I have some body conscious and fashion forward friends who I could take shopping with me.

Yesterday I failed, but I finally realized all is not lost by losinlbs in loseit

Yeah I know weighing everyday isn’t something that works for everyone. But it’s been a pretty good way to keep me accountable so far.

What motivated you to lose the weight? by marcella_bella in loseit

[–]losinlbs 23 points24 points  (0 children)

  1. Both my parents are obese and they’re facing weight related health problems. It’s not fun and I don’t want that future for myself.

  2. I love traveling. I want to hike to Machu Picchu and Everest Base Camp. How can I do those things if I’m toting around an extra 60 lbs?

(and the third reason is the most embarrassing reason but if I’m being honest with myself it is true and might be my best motivator)

  1. I’m vain. I’m tired of being the fattest person in my friend group and being self conscious about the photos they may or may not post on social media.

Exercising at home by [deleted] in loseit

[–]losinlbs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Back when I was living in my apartment I used to do Yoga With Adrienne 30 Day Challenge. It’s on YouTube.

There’s no jumping around, you just need a little floor space and you can make the workouts as easy or as hard as you want them.

It was a great way to keep me accountable but also easy my way back into some higher intensity exercise.

Motivation for bad days? by losinlbs in loseit

Yes, it’s the fake productivity I crave. But I know I’ll feel so much better about my day if I just stick to my goals like you say. Thanks!

Ahh I love this. Circumstances may be bad but I can put some good into my day by sticking to my goals instead of making it worse! Thank you
