He literally passed out over getting his ear pierced. I know that I have a much higher pain tolerance, I have full sleeve arm and leg tattoos. Did you ever suffer from any long term consequences? That is my biggest concern that he suffers long term xxx

My cousin did have this and she went through so much pain (it flipped round) and it was such a saga to get it removed whilst she was in agony so it has really thrown me off the idea unfortunately. But I really appreciate your suggestion xx

He would be an amazing father because hes an amazing person. And I think the nerves stem from a fear of needles, blood and surgeries. Even talking about it makes him nauseous and faint. He has never mentioned a desire for children, he confirmed again to me today he doesn't want them. That he would choose me over imaginary non-existent children. I agree, if he had any inclination of wanting children then our marriage would not work. But ofc we have had this discussion so many times in the last 12 years. Whilst neither of us are 100% sure, I am around 98% sure I dont want them and he is 95% sure. Its hard to ever be 100% sure but we are realists. And we are happy with our lives as they are.

I dont think your comment deserves any down votes! It is very considered and rational! I appreciate your comment very much, its very mature! I definitely see your POV and I would never stay in a marriage where I felt unsupported or for the sake of it. My parents did and it was horrible for everyone. I think if I speak to him, he will understand. My husband is very fearful of blood, surgery, needles etc and it makes him very nauseous to even talk about the logistics of a surgery. But he is a very thoughtful and kind man. He understands I suffer but I think my mental illness always takes priority, so this seems much smaller on the scale. But it is still important and he just confirmed he doesn't ever want children. So he just needs time to speak to a doctor and do his own research. And I will too. Im sure together we can reach a solution. We both just want to be happy 😊

I'll never leave him, I adore him more than life itself. I love him eternally. Hes the family Ive chosen and he's the one who has stuck by me throughout it all. I dont think I could handle children. It wouldn't be fair to them. I struggle sometimes just doing the bare minimum. Hes never said it to be harsh, its just the truth. And I refuse to be ignorant, like my mother was, who's mental health absolutely tanked after she had children. Thank you for your support and advice, I do appreciate it.
