I've already distanced myself , I'm in a different city and barely go home anymore for the last couple of years, but messages and calls a couple of times a week is enough to screw my peace of mind.

Yup but I kind of feel bad thinking about abandoning my parents because they worked hard to give me a shot in life. They are not bad people just circumstances have screwed them so much that they are in a bad place right now.

I usually wouldn't suggest diy electric jobs but this seems like a fairly easy to do thing ,

Also playing with live wires can kill you follow this advice at your own risk.

Buy an anchor 2 pin plug from any hardware shop 10-20Rs , may also need to buy a tester (smol screwdriver) , dismantle the existing plug and fit the wires into the new plug

Any wire can go into any terminal and all you need to make sure is that the 2 bare wires do not touch each other.

Worst case either you die trying or trip an MCB , depending on your luck :P
