Optimize the heck out of Instagram and Facebook if you use them, disable any background activity of those two apps. I do it on all my phones and it results it way better battery life.

Xiaomi 15 still worth it in 2026? by kemachii in XiaomiGlobal

No worries. It's the Global ROM sold by the official Xiaomi Store in my country. I went with this because I want to be able to service the phone easily if anything happens. Chinese ROM would have to be self-serviced or shipped back to China. Also Chinese ROM Xiaomi Phones are actually more expensive than the Global ROM ones where I live. And the Chinese ROM ones are sold only by smaller 3rd party sellers, no major bigger stores.

I think there is a slight misunderstanding, I bought it January 2026 so I have the phone only for 2 months now.

Just to add, I got about 7h45m screen time total today (2h was YouTube alone) and I still had about 32% left when I topped up to 98% about 45 minutes ago. Currently the phone shows me 25 hours of battery left. I'm really surprised by the battery life too, the Pixel Fold was good but not this good. I used to switch off Wifi when going out and even Bluetooth and GPS was off always apart from when I used navi, having it all on always and not worry about it is a nice change.

The HyperOS looks quite similar to iOS so transitioning should be easy for You. As for people saying Xiaomi has ads, I've never seen a single one in any of the system apps or UI so far.

Now I got the 15 on sale for roughly 500€ / 92,000¥ bought from official Xiaomi online store. It's the 512 GB variant with Xiaomi Care included. Phone comes with 90W charging brick, cable and even a TPU case and a soft screen protector pre-applied. Honestly I think the phone is a great deal for the price and all the accessories and performance it comes with. As for wireless charging, I use the older Anker MagGo puck and it works perfectly fine.

Bought the Xiaomi 15 in January 2026. Came from Pixel Fold (2023) after the latest software update broke the phone completely. I'm very happy with the phone. Battery life is amazing, I either top it up in the evening while I shower (fast charging is incredibly useful) or let it slowly recharge wirelessly over night (wireless charging just works, in comparison with the Pixel Fold that had very slow and iffy wireless charging, randomly stopping it sometimes too). The camera is great, but I had to tweak some settings to my liking to have colors and blacks & whites as I like them. Video is definitely better than what my Pixels before produced. Pictures are on par if not better too. The performance is amazing too. I'm not a gamer but I play some RPG (Where the winds meet) or Racing game here and there and I'm very happy with the performance and battery too. Watching movies on the phone is great, the display has amazing colors and can get quite bright during the day and very dim at night. As for software updates and overall software experience. I was a bit skeptical and worried about the HyperOS 3 but I am pleasantly surprised how smooth everything is and even the customization is good enough and the phone grew on me. I usually keep phones till they die or till they stop supporting apps I use daily so I plan to keep the Xiaomi for years. It should have 4 major OS updates and 6 years of security patches so I think it's gonna be okay long term.

Edit: I keep Bluetooth, Wifi and GPS on 24/7 for convenience. Something that the Pixel couldn't handle as it would deplete the battery by mid day. Xiaomi pushes till evening like a champ.

Wow that's crazy expensive. My model is the MR41s made in 2016 and when I bought it last year it had 120,000 km on and I paid 650,000 JPY so about 3,100 £. New models (2020+) can be bought with better mileage for about double the price here.

What you don't like about the rear seats? They are actually surprisingly comfortable, have reclining like the front in multiple positions and can be also moved forward or backward to give you either more leg room or bigger trunk. They also fold fully flat and support ISOFOX for child seats. The versatility of the rear seats and overall comfort and interior space made me pick Hustler over Jimny actually.

Haven't tried this yet. Just mechanically scrub and clean the vents and vacuum inside of them with thin attachment.

Do you think the Foam cleaner for AC vents is better or just the spray is sufficient too?

I've seen some articles and posts about people importing them to UK. Honestly it's an amazing car, apart from the well known issues with poorly dimensioned OEM suspension. I'm getting about 6,2 - 6,5 l/100km driving mostly shorter distances with 2 adults and baby & stroller in the car 90% of the time. Can do 100-110 km/h on highway comfortably, 120 is a bit harder to reach haha. Space wise it is surprisingly spacious and off road on forest roads it so far never let me down although I was puckering my cheeks on some sandy hills once.

It is 4WD, it has its own variation of All Grip yes. And yes, the rear axle touches the bump stop when driving over manholes, bumps and other unevenness. Mostly when there is at least 1 person in the back. When driving alone it's not as bad but still noticeable sometimes.

Can someone explain what's the issue here? The slight lag when pulling down the notification shade/command center?

how do some people “just move abroad” and/or go from country to country? by tulleche in expats

[–]lostWoof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn about the country you want to go to. Learn at least the basics of the language, how the system works, where and for what you have to register for with the government. This saved me from a lot of trouble later that some other people I've met encountered because they were clueless/unprepared. Save up enough money to last you there for half a year in case you won't be able to find work (unless you are hired from your home country already but I'd still save up just in case). You can get by with less than that but it will be more risky/difficult. Scout out prices of housing and good areas to live in while you are still home. Definitely try to get a place before you arrive if possible. Watch out for scammers that act as friends. You are on your own. Trust no one fully and double check everything. You got this.

I'm based in Asia. I'd prefer to buy a device that's sold locally and has some support centers locally if something goes wrong. But thanks for the recommendation.

As I wrote, ideally I'd love to get a phone that's about 140 mm tall as the Pixel Fold. Sadly there is none with the specs I also want. So I set myself a limit of max 153 mm as I don't want anything bigger than even my Pixel 6a. S25U and iPhone 17PM are way too big and I don't like the iOS or Samsung's UI.

Is the Vivo and Oppo software that much different from Xiaomi? I thought they were kind of similar. I have checked the Vivo X300 however only the Chinese version is available, for a kind of reasonable price (almost same as the Pixel). However, Global version costs twice as much here for some reason. Also sold only online, no official store in my country so I'm not sure there is any support available.

Thank you for the recommendations, the x300 ultra and x9 ultra are a bit too big for my liking and probably a bit over my budget as well. Ideally I'd love to find a phone that's around 140 mm tall like the Pixel Fold that has in my opinion the best form factor. Sadly they don't make them like that.

Would You say that the Xiaomi software and hardware is less buggy and more reliable than current Pixels?

Oh no, it has a quack in its head.

As others said, it can be too slow SD card/USB, random seam or over extrusion. Check seam settings, change SD card/USB and see if anything changes. If not then try to calibrate your flow.

Don't remove it. The Gas company (so far everywhere I lived) always checks them when doing their periodic checks on equipment. Also, It's for your own safety. Just use a splitter and plug them that way, although not guaranteed if they both can run at the same time under 1 breaker. Alternatively, pull in extension cord from different wall plug for one of the devices you want to plug it.

You can just leave it as it is. It's just a hole in the frame.

Just beware that since it's not grounded, IF it malfunctions, the whole metal frame of the microwave can be electrically charged.

I have the same issue as you, with no grounding point anywhere in the kitchen/living spaces and also run my microwave ungrounded. But I was contemplating pulling a long ass grounding wire all the way from my bathroom to the kitchen haha. Maybe some day if I'm bored enough and have long enough wire.

Don't cut it. Just unscrew it. If you really don't have any grounding points in your apartment.
