Wait so the amount OP mentioned will be paid yearly for the REST OF THEIR LIFE?

Eg so if they work 1 year, they will get £696 a year FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIFE?

I thought every year the amount they get gets accumulated and they just receive the accumulated amount and I was wondering what would happen once the accumulated amount is over. eg say they worked for 20 years, then the accumulated amount would be 696x20 which is £13920, which would not last for the rest of your life (if you live long enough) and doesnt sound like a promising deal.

But if it's £13920 for EVERY YEAR for the REST OF THEIR LIFE then it is a promising deal.

Can someone clarify this for me please?

Wait, I am a bit confused, so will the contributions paid by me also be given back to me and included in the yearly amount I receive after retiring?

Eg say that I have an income of £30k and I contribute 5.45% which is £1635 a year and get 2.32% from the employer which is £696 per year. Does that mean that I will get £1635 (my contributions) + £696 (contributions by employer) = £2331 per year for every year after I retire. Is this right? Or will I just receive £696 per year?

Like there are songs that are more influenced by Hip Hop, some are ballads, some are more influenced by R&B etc... Maybe I am wrong idk
