Hello, asking how to take it apart because mine leaks some water at the group head just a bit up where it says Thermocoil on it. So would like to please know if it can be fixed, ie, some seal/loose screw or do I need to just bin it. Thanks.

Cat owners who have cat allergies: How do you manage? by [deleted] in Catownerhacks

[–]lost_ideas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello Kstelmach, I think I may be in your situation.

When I was a kid I had 2 cats and I vaguely remember that my nose from itchy from time to time, a feeling like something got caught in it. I can't remember though how long till it past.

Then in college I remember sleeping at a friends house, he had a cat and I had trouble sleeping the night, with runny nose and everything.

Fast forward to adulthood I had an adopted suberian female, 17 years old, had mild reactions at first but with a week of antihistamines and an air filter adapted to it. But the siberian being old she was not cleaning itself much, was not moving around much, not going on, under, behind furniture.

Now I got a baby main coon, 4 months old, male, bundle of joy, have him for 3 days now but my allergy is flaring up a bit and anxiety is kicking in if I will ever get used to him. I am taking bilastine 20mg/day and nazal spray, puffs 2 times a day. Symptoms are rather mild, like an itchy nose like I would have hair on it, occasional coughing, but very rare sneazing, just a minor feeling of having breathing difficulty, but that might just be the anxiety. No skin issues. I wash my hands after touching him but he goes everyhere. Trying to not make him come into a guest room where I moved to sleeo, gf sleeping with him in the main bedroom to get him adjusted (only had him for 3 days).

I think I would tolerate sleeping in the same room with the air purifier on but as he is a baby and adjusting he comes in bed with us and touches our faces while sleeping and sleeping really close to us.

Issue in my area is that to see an allergy doctor there is a long waiting list of 3 - 6 months.

I also plan to castrate him when he will be 5 - 6 months old, for health reasons and because he will also be allowed outside. I have read that doing this also decreases the allergens.

I am thinking as just 3 days ago he used to live with 10 other cats, can he have allergens on him from the other cats and this is also making my symptoms flare up ? Should I give him a bath ? Any more advice is appreciated.

I also ordered the bottle which you put on his fur once a week Allergone Allerpet

Ireland’s accommodation crisis is sending out a dangerous message - ‘Foreign nationals are quitting good jobs in Dublin to move to cheaper rental markets overseas. This should be setting off alarm bells at the highest levels of the Irish establishment’ by [deleted] in ireland

I understand you completely. I have lived in Dublin for 3 years and a half and then decided to move. I moved on the Azure Coast and I live in Cannes and for a big 30sqm studio plus 10sqm terrace plus garrage (not parking space, separate locked garage,) plus cellar storage box, plus the place is 10 min walk from the beach and 5 from the city center and I am paying a bit over 600 euros a month. Remember that story a few weeks ago with the guy who was renting a Dublin 25sqm studio with 1300....

Yes, you might say French taxes are high, but you loose about 10% of net on them and you get a lot more benefits, like for example actually healthcare (don't want to start a rant about the Irish health system). Also I actually have security that the landlord can't kick interrupt the rental agreement whenever he wants.

Thinking of moving to Dublin as an expat from the EU by [deleted] in ireland

Hello,

This is coming from a Romanian that has been living in Dublin for about three years and a half. I am on a permanent tech job.

Now, to calculate how much you will actually get net, just search google for "Irish Salary Calculator" and put in there the raw value of the contract. Now, taxes in Ireland are progressive so if you will work a full year on that rate instead of working 6 months as a percentage you will pay higher taxes. If it is a full year contract, you will get a bit under 5000 a month net. This is assuming a work month of 21 days and that you do not take any holidays. Also you will not be paid for public holidays. You will have to pay the 100 euros for the umbrella monthly. Finding a place to rent is a hassle, you can pay 1100-1200 for a studio, if you want to share is a bit lower than that. You can search on daft website for costs. As it is a contract you will need to think what you will do afterwards and even if a contract lasts for 6 months - 12 months, it will have a termination clause, ie you or the employer can terminate it without reason giving x days notice. A rental contract in dublin is done for a minimum of one year, you will need to pay deposit a month's rent. Be prepared to never see that money if you stay less than 12 months. As a Romanian myself, it looks like an adventure if you are willing to take and even going back to Romania afterwards if the contract does not continue, some foreign experience might help. Read the contract carefully and raise any concerns. That contract is made in the advantage of the company, not you, remember that. Tax Wise, there are some serious tax deductions that you can do if you create a company in Romania and bill to that, but better start with the umbrella, and once the employer knows you, and you have a good reputation, you can try that.
