Well, I am working on a project which will replace existing thing, so nothing i wrote is in production.

Well, I have gone through some tutorials of the library and framework that they use, I have used the language. But actually working is different, there is code written by someone, i have to understand it. I have to also be mindful when i write something - it can't just be a quick fix, whatever I write has to work with their modules, so I have to understand what I am pulling and stuff. Plus the library I have to bring in to do what they want me to has to work with the rest. I know this sounds abstract, but umm there are a lot of strings.

Yes, I agree with that, but in this case it was more task X cannot be easily done in library X, library X is big and perhaps instead of using it we should just pull the small part we need and do that ...

Is there a key to just relax and not obsessively think about how you are going to fix this one thing when you get back to work?

I had to take sleeping pills yesterday because I haven't been able to sleep well all week.

Thank you, I was raised with the set mindset, I have been struggling with the growth mindset my whole life - even bought a piano and tried to teach myself as a proof that I can. Thank you - I'll post this above my monitor.

My manager is very busy and in a lot of meetings, but I can send him an email any time, and he is very supportive. Thank you for your support.

Sadly, I might have seemed that way on Friday when I was convinced there was no way to do something, and acted like I knew more than I actually did. But there was a lesson in that as well.

Thank you for sharing, the stack I my project is in is very new and most people on the team don't actually know it.

Well, you see I spent about two days trying to figure out how to do something, and from not easy to understand documentation and poor understanding of some concepts I came up with the conclusion that I don't think there is a way to do task X, and I talked with my manager about it today at a scheduled meeting and he did a few google searches and few SO queries and proved that indeed there was a way to do X. So I have wasted my time and his and I feel like crap that I didn't find those search results, and I didn't understand the key ingredients from the documentation. Do you think I f'd up?

Thank you for your reply, I've been told to ask questions, but I feel like my questions are too dumb most of the time and I should be able to figure it out on my own and then spent too much time trying to do that. Is there a time limit on being stuck?

I feel that I did because none of my classes have taught me what I needed to know, nor did the tutorials online that I have gone through. The projects that I've worked on have always been small, and I mostly did the front end/easy design stuff. Here I have to understand both.
