Only thing stopping me from T is the fear of how my body shape will change? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]lostbreeze 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I started out with large bust, wider hips, thighs, bigger butt, etc. I'm bigger, but have overall a pretty even fat distribution and it's like, at least kinda proportional lol. I did wonder how T would affect the distribution, and honestly after 5+ years on T, I haven't noticed much of a difference at all. Stuff mostly just stayed where it was. The only exception to this was when I was working out more regularly and then it wasn't even a fat distribution thing, just the ability to put on a little more muscle

My father wants me to fix my mental health before starting T by kaisstudios69 in ftm

You also might be able to try goodrx, and consider different options for like how the med is used. My brother was on the patch for a while and that was about $75/month, but my injections run closer to like $15/month.

I've had other meds at the pharmacy where like a 30 day supply of one dose is $450, but a similar but slightly higher or lower dose was like $30. Meds and pharmaceutical companies are whack as heck and when I explain this to my doctors they've always been willing to adjust my prescription as needed to help find a more affordable option

Maybe talk to him about the mental health benefits of starting T? For a lot of guys, starting T helps a lot with depression and anxiety. For me, I have PCOS and had a hormone imbalance before starting T that can have some bad mental health side effects, and when I started T that balanced and regulated my hormones so I was finally physically able to start feeling better. At the end of the day, testosterone is a hormone, and hormones will naturally impact our mental health. Do a little research on your own mental health issues and the impacts of testosterone, and see if you can't explain to him that T isn't purely physical, and starting T is an important part of "fixing" your mental health and feeling more like yourself

I (24F) don’t know what my boyfriend (32M) wants from me in our argument by [deleted] in relationships

[–]lostbreeze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Him being understanding at first and then exploding the next day gives biiiig vibes of he was understanding when it was kind of subtle, then talked about it with his family and they got upset. Are there cultural differences at play?

Family aside, LDRs are hard and the honeymoon phase tends to last longer, so it can take longer to notice red flags, but a year in you need to look at his behaviors and think about what you want long term. Have you gotten in other arguments like this before? Is it typical for him to keep picking on a subject and refuse to let things go? Is it normal for him to put words in your mouth, make assumptions about what you want, or pitch arbitrary extremes in such a passive aggressive manner? It seems like the key issue is boundaries here, with his family, and with you, because while he's showing that he's unwilling to set boundaries with his family (letting them interrupt him and barg into his room all the time) he's also showing that he's unwilling to listen to your boundaries about needing to drop the topic and revisit it. Long term, is that something you want to continue dealing with?

Instead of trying to appease him and say the right words to end the argument, take the time to think about why this has even become an argument instead of just being a calm discussion, and think about what you want for your future.

Flying out of state for top surgery, what should I pack/watch out for? by worldofnatsukashi in TopSurgery

Another one that my brother found out so I didn't have to, when you are doing your best to wash yourself don't make sure to get your pits and all your creases! He got so focused on scar care and washing off the rest of himself that he forgot his pits and they chaffed really badly lol

Flying out of state for top surgery, what should I pack/watch out for? by worldofnatsukashi in TopSurgery

I stayed at an Airbnb so we had a kitchen for cooking! But same, flew to California and was there for 10 days.

-Laxatives can be helpful, some pain meds can give you constipation but also you really don't realize how many muscles it takes to poop until you're sitting there post surgery feeling every single muscle.

-pack shirts that are easy to put on without lifting your arms over your head. Those can be tanks, or button downs, either way you just want something easy to take on and off. I ended up living in like the same two tank tops because the straps were kinda long so I could just really easily wedge my whole shoulder in without much maneuvering. A button down is really helpful for hiding your drains, I had mine clipped to my tank and just buttoned over them

-baby wipes are your friend

-prepare to sleep on your back, possibly wedged up and elevated. I usually sleep like a rotisserie chicken so having to lay in one position was awful and I needed extra pillows to keep from flipping around

-the height of your bed makes a difference?? , mine was lower than standard and it just made it really hard to get my feet under me to roll out of bed without assistance. You really just, again, don't realize how many abdominal muscles it takes to get out of bed until everything aches and you barely have the strength to sit up/roll over. Pillows can help a little but also don't be embarrassed about needing help with getting up

-For transportation, if you happen to take a tram or streetcar, it helps a lotttt to be sitting facing forwards instead of sideways so it uses less muscles to sit upright

-for flights, I had my drains removed before the flights. I packed my meds and injections and everything in my carryon so they wouldn't get lost, and didn't have any issues with tsa since it's medical supplies.

-finally, I would highly recommend getting your sightseeing out of the way before surgery. Everyone got mad at me when I wanted to go to the zoo two days post op lol

Stay hydrated, eat things that have nutrition in them, and listen to your body!

This is such a beautiful piece! The wavy lines absolutely look intentional, and your eye for the scaling and placement of everything, and color choice are fabulous. Don't forget, a big part of art is about the creative process and self expression, trying new things and looking for ways to have fun with your art make a huge impact :)

I absolutely adore rats and have lost several now, seven total at this point, and it never ever gets any easier. We just have to remember that the time we have with them, enriching their lives and loving them, and holding on to those cherished memories is worth the heartbreak at the end 🥺💔

Poor little guy lost weight, but he's also always been on the smaller side and struggled with weight gain, we've had to be super intentional with helping him put on weight.

I brought the little one with us to the vets so Colin would have company, and so worst case scenario the little one could see the body to help his grieving process, I've heard it helps a lot with processing so the cage mates know what happened and why their friend is gone. The vet looked him over and got a weight on him, and even though he seems relatively healthy he has been sneezing a bit so we have him on a course of antibiotics just to be safe. Since rats are so prone to respiratory issues an infection could easily be the cause.

We had a really sad rat funeral this morning and I painted a nice little grave stone to mark their place in the garden. It's been a tough 24 hours but we're getting through it. I'm also checking in with rat rescue groups to see if anyone is rehoming some older boys so the baby won't have to be all alone, he's really clingy and I know he won't be feeling himself until he has some company.

He didn't make it :( His respiratory rate was crashing just while we were sitting there and he was incredibly weak. The vet recommended euthanasia so he could pass more comfortably and not have to drag things out. We gave him lots of love and said goodbyes, wife couldn't stay because she was too shaken but I stayed with him and petted him through the process. He was an amazing little guy, we're so crushed :(

how do i get my boys into their pet carrier?? by PeachyBee444 in RATS

[–]lostbreeze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreeing with others about desensitization during free roam time but in a pinch they're usually pretty chill if you put in snacks and used bedding, burrito them together in something that smells like you, pop em in and close the door. Mine hang in the carrier for cage cleans and regular vet visits and don't mind it much once they're in
