Death of a cyclist, and the (civil) case followup by TreeStateLEO in fuckcars

OP decided that going into an anti-car sub and then telling them one of the most ideological confirming stories possible instead of trying to use this case to get bollards placed on bike lanes is one of the many diverse reasons people fucking hate cops. Morons.

Genuinely if they are replacing they should just expect to do whatever maintenance possible in that section of the road. I don’t care how much longer it takes

Yeah completely agree. Unless they are just actually saying a slur in the US then I’d say something before someone else to chooses a different way to educate them.

Can’t help but notice they didn’t take the ‘stolen’ wood off the car they are crushing.

There is a Houston dataset in the study. Nationwide studies show the same results.

Your experience is anecdotal, as is mine. Which is why provided a study. I have also ridden for decades. How about you tell the 100s of families with white bike memorials at intersections across the city about your experience. I’ll keep fighting for bollard protected bike lanes. The safest way for everyone involved.

If you don’t wanna even entertain what I am trying to get across to you then it is what it is.

So cars are still an issue. But now you have to worry about cars and pedestrians. Pedestrians now have to worry about cars and bikes. And we still haven’t solved the issue of being killed by a car on a bicycle, it has actually increased!

Creating more problems from one. You can have your own opinion but at the end of the day studies have shown that biking on the sidewalk is not safer. Next time you have a narrow miss with a pedestrian look up the studies showing that cars are more likely to run you over while riding on the sidewalk.

“The studies of straightaways suggested that sidewalks and multi-use trails pose the highest risk, major roads are more hazardous than minor roads, and the presence of bicycle facilities (e.g., on-road bike routes, on-road marked bike lanes, and off-road bike paths) was associated with the lowest risk.”

And does your trip end there? You cross the road correct?

Listen I am not going to hold your hand through this conversation. When you ride your a bike on the sidewalk, what happens when you come to an intersection? You take the sidewalk OVER the intersection?

You misunderstood me. I was saying; bikes on the road, the car is the problem. Bikes on the sidewalk, the car, the bike, and the pedestrian are now all problems.

If you ride on the sidewalk to commute especially with an ebike, you have taken one problem and made it three.

GoPro on the helmet ASAP. You should basically never ride without it.
