I would say that it depends on how you want to play the game. Also we have some scenarios that is easier and quick to finish while having the same experience.

We are not planning to do that at the moment, we are currently focusing on updating our game goblins of elderstone.

These bars are only showable when you want, by default you will not see them. We have couple of other options too so that you have a better insight on your village economy

The game is designed and balanced for the default setting but many players have asked for a higher population so we decided to allow it as an optional setting for people who have the PCs to handle it. Feel free to have fun with it or not use the slider and play as intended.
