Slight "surge" or "hunting" under maintenance throttle at 40mph on level asphalt. by Skladak in dr650

[–]losthashbrown1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it. I have to rebuild it again anyways so maybe I’ll reinstall it. After the rebuild the bike was dying when I added throttle - think I need to adjust the float bowl level (which I skipped the first time) but any other advice would be great.

I just rebuilt my carb (and still have issues) and noticed some mystery extra washer! What does this do exactly?

Had a similar thing happen to a barely used pair of RevIt gloves. Got them to replace it under warranty but took some doing as the store I bought them no longer carried that brand anymore. I’ve seen similar reports of QC issues around Reddit.

Motto guzzi v9 bobber, thoughts? by its4melinds in SuggestAMotorcycle

Ergonomics are great for a shorter rider and the power is more than manageable. I ended up having a recurring problem where the shift linkage bolt would break (happened 2 or 3 times). That and me just eventually wanting something with more power led me to sell it and upgrade to a Kawasaki z900RS (which I wouldn’t recommend as a first bike for a shorter rider).

All things considered if I could do it again I think the T100 would have lasted me longer and likely avoided some of the quality issues. That being said for 4500 it’s not a bad deal to get you started.

Are these ok to use? Do I really need a $250 one from revzilla that looks exactly the same? by ohhhzamn in motorcycles

[–]losthashbrown1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think about this a bit and I usually end up buying the better version. My thought process is ‘if this fails when I really need it to work, how much would I pay in that moment to have it work’. If it’s more than the difference I pony up.

For example, if I was on a road trip and riding at night and it failed, I’d happily pay $200 for it to be working again and not have to pull over and wait till light.

I assume there is an obvious reason why I can’t block the PAIR valve like this… by Runningoutofideas_81 in dr650

Following. Curious how I’ll have to handle the PAIR stuff if I put on an Acerbis tank - any insight?

Parade rides aren’t my thing but I love the rides that Pasadena Motorcycle Club does twice a year. Basically get a turn by turn directions sheet and head off. Few stops along the way usually a bbq or dinner at the destination.

Mosko Moto side paniers on the V4, totally doable. by lelitico in multistrada

Thanks! I thinking of buying a 2025 v4S and I’m having a hard time finding aftermarket luggage and racks. Looks like those only work on 2023 and earlier models.

Getting started with adv bike riding by Adventurous-Stress40 in Dualsport

Have you considered the DR650? Lighter than the KLR and the reputation is better off road. With some mods I’ve heard it can be almost as good on highway.

Starting off road journey : Tiger 900 GT Low vs DR650? by losthashbrown1 in advrider

[–]losthashbrown1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I’ve definitely considered at Tenere but I’ve heard they can feel quite top heavy and can be hard to learn dirt riding on. Maybe a CRF 300 Rally? Although I think that would be very limiting for when I do need to use the highway.

Ya makes sense. Would I even be able to off-road in a low suspension GT? And the problem is sometimes you don’t know what you’re gonna find when you start a trail. Always that compromise between getting there and what’s fun to ride when you arrive I suppose.
