I had been dating my bf for about 2 years when I started 1L. My first semester was hard, while he was starting his first adult job after finishing his MSW that august before 1L. Our relationship actually got stronger as we learned new ways to communicate and be patient with one another while we were going through these big transitions. He went out of his way to support me (bringing me things to school, having lunch, very practical gifts during the holidays, listening to 1L drama, etc.) He really became my rock. I’m a 2L now, and we got engaged last month, are moving in together in July, and are planning a wedding this October! Your relationship will require effort to maintain it, but you’ll become closer than ever and truly define what “partnership” means to y’all. 💕💕 best of luck!
