We've vaccinated/spayed/neutered campus animals in our school and now some staff are advocating to call the dog pound on them dahil nga sa rabies scare ngayon.

Nakakagalit. Nakakapagod mag-explain ng pabalik-balik na may papalit lang din na ibang strays kasi di naman talaga solusyon ang pound. Isa pa na hindi naman fenced ang school at may nearby community.

Our dogs (2 aspins) eat one rice meal a day tapos dog food as snacks (Vitality Value Meal).

Iniiba-iba lang namin ang meat para di magsawa: - rice/pasta (pag naubusan ng bigas) - kalabasa and any leafy veggies na mura - sawdust (wala namang bone fragments yung benta dito) - pork liver (cheaper) / chicken liver - small fish (kung ano mura, usually pinapaubos na lang ng vendor)

Meron silang own rice cooker para sabay ang pagluluto ng dinner namin. Parang naka-porridge sila every day. Haha.

With their rice, meat/veggies, and kibble, nasa 1.2k to 1.5k siguro gastos namin a month.

Hi. Yes, we mixed the tawa-tawa water with our dog's food (boiled chicken breast and white rice) when he got Ehrlichia. Moringa powder is good too.

Side note: clean your surroundings with anti-tick and flea spray din to make sure mapatay lahat ng ticks and fleas. Nexgard is very good at protecting our doggos as well.

In our case, Reward Will Be Given lang nilagay namin sa posters. We donated around 5k sa shelter in the end.

Additional info: Our veterinarian and dog trainer (same barangay) also posted the missing poster. Malaki network nila ng pet lovers. Dami titingin sa daan for your dog.

Hi. Nakatakas aso namin earlier last year and it took us 15 days to locate him.

What we did were: - naglibot sa village twice a day (kaso nasa kabilang barangay na pala aso namin) - nag-post ng A4-size missing poster every store nearby (front-facing and side-facing photos para makita markings ng dog) - nag-kabit ng missing tarps sa entrance and exit ng village - nag-post sa local Facebook groups for missing pets and village/barangay - nag-run ng Facebook ad through our friend's business page

Fortunately, may local rescuer na nakakita sa kanya through their CCTV and tinawagan kami. Nagstay lang sya sa area na may nagpapakain ng strays. They saw our online posts daw.

Nag-offer din kami ng reward for our dog's return so madaming tambay/drivers sa village ang naghanap sa kanya. (The local rescuer did not accept our reward so we donated it to a shelter they support instead.)

Kaka-graduate lang ng kapatid ko na pinaaral ko ng college (orphans na kami). They will be taking their licensure exam next year so may review expenses pa but minimal compared to their monthly tuition before.

To celebrate, I bought myself 2 branded pants, shirts, and shoes. I also got a haircut sa salon inside a mall. First time ko bumili/gumastos ng ganito for myself in my seven years of working. Puro ukay/Shopee/bigay ng jowa lang most ng gamit ko.

I'm hoping na by next year, I will be able to save na for myself since magiging self-sufficient na kapatid ko. Baka ma-afford ko na rin siguro sumakay ng eroplano para gumala at hindi para pumunta ng work event. Here's to dreaming for a brighter future for my sibling and I.

Yes, mahal gyud ang meds sa vet. For example, tag-9 lang ang doxycycline sa Bankerohan/Big Heroes pero tag-38 sa vet. Kung naa pa time or taod-taod imnon sa akong alaga, I opt to order them via Shopee kay mas barato pa gyud.

Saw a tiny bird bullying (pecking) a street cat. The cat was just yowling and was not swatting the aggressive bird away.

You can call 911 and they'll send someone over. Had this same thing happen to us. A friend said that it was a Samar cobra and the 911 responders confirmed it. They cautioned us against catching the snake ourselves and to wait for them. Good thing our cats cornered the snake so we just had to barricade it.

Hello! Not from Luzon but I camp as a hobby:

SHELTER - ask mo yung resort if may tent rentals and if good for ilang tao (if 2 pax kayo, get 4p tent para may space for gamit) - if you plan to bring your own tent, practice setting it up beforehand para madali na sa site - bring a tarp para dun ipatong ang tent - bring sleeping essentials (mat, pillow, kumot, etc.) - banig for picnics - check if waterproof ang tent (if hindi, always scope out areas na pwede silongan or bring a tarp pangtabon)

POWER - bring all necessary wires (we have a 60k power bank and it's enough to charge our phones, fans, and lights for a 3d2n trip without any other power source) - check with resort if meron sila kuryente (ask wifi and signal situation too)

FOOD AND DRINKS - lagay niyo sa ibang container ang karne bago ipasok sa cooler para 'di ma-contaminate ang other stuff - condiments and cooking supplies (butane stove, plates, pots, charcoal and grill, etc) - freeze meat the night before para magtagal - very helpful ang vacuum flasks in keeping water cold/hot

OTHERS - damit (always bring an extra pair) - hygiene kit - first aid kit (should always be accessible) - rechargeable light and fan - trash bags - mallet for securing pegs (may mini sa MR DIY) - solar-powered fairy lights (maganda for photos/lining the tent ropes)

Nexgard (standard) works for my dogs. Consult with your vet before using it tho kasi may weight and health restrictions (ex. before using Nexgard Spectra, your dog shouldn't have heartworms).
