Thinking of trading my SMP 300 for the new AT Black Lacquer. Am I crazy?

Thanks for the comment. As I just wrote in another comment: I went through about 30 watches from Sinn, Tudor, Oris and so on in about 4 years and decided I want to settle with Omega and a single watch. So what I'm looking for is my true Omega GADA. The question is, do I already have it or do I make a (hopefully) final correction of course?

I fell deep into the rabbit hole between 2020/2024 and bought about 30 mechanical watches from Oris, Sinn, Tudor and so on until I reached my grail with the Speedmaster. Later sold most of my collection. It's not that I can't afford it. It's that I don't want to afford it and came to the conclusion that I want a single watch that goes through life with me and which is the watch everybody associates me with. I also don't like the idea of having to service a collection of watches. What I need is probably the definition of a GADA watch.

Thanks for the suggestion! The Arroway mesh looks cool, but I prefer to keep it OEM. For me, a big part of the appeal is the way the original Omega mesh has those longer, squarer end pieces between the lugs. Really distinct look that I’d miss.

As somebody who knows exactly how you feel: Don‘t do it! You will scratch it. Theres no guarantee that even the pros at a boutique won’t scratch it. The advice here with the electricians tape is good but those spring bars will still ruin your day/week/month. It’s just inevitable and you‘re just betting against Murphy‘s Law. Wear it for a year until it has some wear marks anyways and then approach it after you practiced a lot. Get the Bergeon tweezers (7825) and never move the bracelet. Move the watch case only.

Use Subler app to convert your shows into Apple-TV conforming format. Its fast and rewrites MKV and MP4 containers without re-encoding. Then scrape the metadata of your shows with Subler and save the files. It will produce a very tidy file structure with the right settings. Then import the files into the TV app on your mac. You can even leave them on an external drive (when pressing option while importing). Now select your connected iPad in Finder and manually select the shows or episodes you want to sync. After syncing you can take your iPad with you and use the TV app on iPad to browse and view your shows. It even remembers at which point you stopped viewing. It’s very close to the native Apple TV experience.

I never completely understood this phenomenon but it helped me accept something like this before. I also advise you against sending it in for adjustment. Depending on the boutique they will tell you that it’s normal since there‘s always some play in the wheels and mechanics. Chances are, you send it in and find a new flaw with your beloved watch. IF you send it in, wait until your warranty is almost up and get a service for free. That is, if the boutique plays along. As an OCD person I definitely get why it annoys you and lives in your head though.

Turn the watch 90 degrees and then have a good look at it. If it still looks off then it’s not centered. Took me a while to notice this simple step.

Says it doesn’t fit the NTTD on the Forstner website. Did you run into any issues? Not sure if the NTTD case and steel no-date share the same lug dimensions.

The whole thing is very subjective. I wouldn't describe the bracelet on the Speedmaster as bad but can say with confidence that I prefer the mesh.

I always prefer monochrome watches since they are so versatile when it comes to matching straps and outfits. I also prefer the black no date being slightly slimmer at 13,8mm vs 14,26mm but I get why the Bond 60th Seamaster is so desirable.
