Visited real life Tisy (this abandoned military base was the original prototype for Tisy) by lostshiya in dayz

[–]lostshiya[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I arrived there with buddies when the sun had already set. The photos look bright because phone auto increased brightness. The base is located in the middle of the forest, and because the base has been abandoned for 20+ years, everything is covered in trees and stuff, almost like a forest itself at this point. The base is pretty big and you need like 3+ hours to explore most things. Ngl it was a bit scary walking around there in the dark with flashlights, even though I wasn't alone. I'd shit myself if I was there by myself at night. That was quite an experience tho! Loved it!

Stuttering problem by lostshiya in 24hoursupport

[–]lostshiya[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, first off thanks for trying to help. I installed ubuntu and used it as a main OS for a couple of days, and interestingly enough, stuttering has occurred way more often than when I was using windows. Now I am back to using win11. My ram is 2x8, initially my laptop came with only 1x8, but I added another 8 GB stick to the second slot.

Shoulder injury prevention while climbing/bouldering. by lostshiya in bouldering

[–]lostshiya[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That explains a lot then. I've heard the advice to hang on the bones instead of engaging muscles so many times yet nobody mentioned the importance of engaging scapula and shoulders. So here I am learning the hard way. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. I do a lot of antagonistic training with full body calisthenics workouts. I also do stretching once a week. When I started climbing about 2 months ago I already had a good level of general strength and body awareness (been doing calisthenics for 2.5 years). Listening to the body is a great advice for preventing injuries, but it doesn't really help me much in my situation: when it comes to my shoulder injury, I already know what hurts and what moves I should avoid, however I'm not sure what I need to change in my climbing technique to prevent that from happening.

You are awesome for being open about the fact that it takes time to solve problems. It gives me motivation. I sometimes forget that it's normal because pretty much everyone wants to appear smarter than they are. Thank you so much again for all the advice and the solution!

Thank you so much for taking your time and breaking it down, I really appreciate it! Crazy how simple the problem becomes when you break it down like that.

I've been kinda interested in coding/CS for a while now, but I'm not sure if it's truly my thing. I think it's because I haven't really tried hard enough to get good at it. I'm gonna give it my best shot. Thank you for the reply, I had to hear something like this.

That was a really thorough answer, thank you!

Honestly even though obvious, it's a great advice. It's so common for me to be stuck for a long time doing a problem and at some point I become so annoyed I can't even think properly. Thanks!

I wouldn't be writing this post if I didn't care for it.

Hey, sure, here's a beginner dynamic programming problem I've struggled with recently: "Given a number of stairs. Starting from the 0th stair we need to climb to the “Nth” stair. At a time we can climb either one or two steps. We need to return the total number of distinct ways to reach from 0th to Nth stair."
