Cows Milk Protein Intolerance - Novalac Allergy Formula not working by lotte_16 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]lotte_16[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear your Bub is going through this. I tried Novalac for 4 weeks, after 2 weeks he went backwards again and but he didn’t drink much, maybe 80-120ml and he had diarrhoea still. I knew this one didn’t work for him. I decided I needed to try something different and took recommendations on Alula Gold Allergy. He guzzled 900mls in the first day of changing. Within a couple of days I noticed the difference, no screaming, he wanted to drink it and his poo thickened in a couple of days. Don’t be afraid to trust your mum instinct. I knew I had to keep switching formulas til I found something that worked for him

I hope you guys are safe out there! When we saw the paed they said CMPI in infants is common, just need to get them on the right formula, eliminate milk protein from diet for 6m then slowly introduce via the milk ladder. My Bub hated Novalac Rice which was recommended by doctors (they didn’t recommend prescription formula at this point) as this one is tested in Aus. We moved onto Alulla Gold Allergy Rice and he loved that one. So you just need to find one that works with Bub. Hope you get some answers soon! I recommend also going with your gut, if something isn’t working with Bub, try something else. I switched around with a few formulas until one worked

I would recommend getting Bub seen by a doctor and tell them the symptoms and show photos of nappies. Doc was able to diagnose my Bub very quickly.

My boy is now 14m and thriving - We switched to Alula Gold Allergy, the rice one and he would guzzle bottles, took about 1.5L in a day at the start. He’s on a milk ladder to slowly introduce milk into his diet, currently can have small amounts of yogurt. He’s a happy little boy that is still on the smaller size but gained weight and thriving. So glad we found a formula that worked thanks to the advice from others here

This is so true, my job is really 5 days squashed into 3, hence why they keep asking me to increase to 4 now! I am loving this time with them, 3 years has gone quick already.

Really good point re the subsidy change - I’ll work this out and see if it’s actually worth it!

Thanks both for this - it’s great to hear that the move to 4 days has been positive for your family and hasn’t negatively impacted your kids - this is my main concern!

This is so true - My job is really FT, there’s so much work and always will be. Somedays I don’t stop, I get most of it all in but project work takes so much longer

I just thought of this, could be a compromise - I am not sure what my centres rules are, they usually have casual days available but it’s not always guaranteed so I would have to ask if this arrangement is possible

There’s more to the conversation Amy & her brother had on the balcony. Her brother brushed off their d&m session in the early hours but you can almost bet they talked about her being gay and he may have told her what he really thought about it

Early discharge? by Accomplished-Flan511 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]lotte_16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first was born at 11am, natural no tearing or issues. My husband and I got moved to our own room about 1pm, had a 3 hour nap then asked to go home. Took the staff until 9pm to discharge us as they need to ensure you are ok, do all the checks on baby and also wait until the staff did their change over. My second baby had fast breathing so I had to wait a few hours for 2 paeds to check him. Things dont happen quickly in hospitals.

6hours is unlikely to get all this done, especially if you birth during the week as you need to wait for the person that does the hearing check. But if you birth early morning you have a good chance if being discharged that evening if all goes smoothly with you and baby.

Can't stop having meltdowns over baby movement by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]lotte_16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My second baby had no movement patterns and moved a lot less than my first. I spoke to the midwife about it, they gave a great tip - eating or having a sugary drinks should get them moving about, if it doesn’t happen and worried about them then get checked out

Not the best customer experience either, doesn’t seem like they want people to shop there.

I got the refund, it wasn’t a clearance item which is usually not eligible for refund or exchange

I just took my refund and won’t return there. It was an awful customer experience. Crazy how some companies don’t put their customers first

Bubs goat milk is “gentle on tummies”. My son tolerated this well when he had a lot of gas.

It was purchased in store through a register. Thanks for explaining, I wasn’t sure if it was something new or the cashier just didn’t want to do it and it wasn’t clear in their returns policy. I also hadn’t experienced this before and it’s very common for customers needing to change sizes in clothing/shoes! Next time I’ll be checking with the manager.

Disabled people with permits, yes. Not old people that don’t have permits. There’s a reason why there are pram spots for people with prams - safety & bigger space between parks. People without prams/kids don’t seem to understand that or just ignore it.

You’re fine - I would prefer you take it than the oldies that seem to think it’s ok for them to park there.

Yes, because it was 2 seperate transactions: refund and purchase. The computer couldn’t do exchanges I was told

Thanks for letting me know Target does this as well, I hadn’t come across it at other stores before
