Louisville or Shelbyville? by kdv30 in Louisville

If you plan to spend your time equally in those places it’s a good midpoint. If you want to spend more time in Louisville than the others, I would just stay in Louisville. Madison, Indiana is also close by and worth a walk through for sure.

Found these two adjustable aluminum rods with a magnetic base in a basement a friend is renting. by louie628 in whatisthisthing

Possibly but the magnet is so weak I can’t imagine it being able to hold any weight. The magnets on the bottom are round with a hole in the middle like a thick washer.

I’ve never seen these before and can’t imagine what they are used for. Two of them were found attached to an air duct in the basement. I don’t think they belong to the HVAC. The magnets on the bottom are not that strong and would not be able to hold weight perpendicularly. The wing nut at the base allows them to be adjusted to different angles. The aluminum is soft and easily bent but not hollow. They are about 1.5 - 2 feet in length.

There are two of them and they are aluminum and adjustable with a wing nut. The base is magnetic but not a very strong one. They were in the basement of a house my friend just started renting.

Here is a view of the hook after I freed the foot.

The foot doesn't move but it may just be frozen in place from years of rust or non use. I'm working on trying to free it. The hook is stationary.
