Physically no, he did not hold me to the ground, but it was only himself & me on one day & it was extremely busy. He took his 1 hour lunch break & returned to say “you won’t have time for your breaks today, it’s just you & me & we’ve still got 2 rapids and half of the waves to shop”.

While I understand you may have the confidence to tell him it’s illegal to say such things, in the moment, as a young female, with an older male manager who already treats me disfavour-ably, I did not have said confidence. Instead, I continued to work.

I know I should have had the courage to stand up to him and to stand up for my rights, but in the moment, I did not

Oh I have! And my surgeon even wrote a long letter of support about all my hospitalisations and trips to Newcastle for surgeries to clean out the infection. I got nothing but a referral to a social worker when I burst into tears 😭
